The Girls' Doubles tournament of the 2018 European Junior Badminton Championships was held from September 11-16. Swedish Doubles Emma Karlsson and Johanna Magnusson clinched this title in the last edition. Danish Amalie Magelund / Freja Ravn leads the seedings this year.

Venus Ebony Starr Williams is an American professional tennis player. A former world No. 1 in both singles and doubles, Williams is widely regarded as one of the all-time greats of the sport of tennis. Along with younger sister Serena Williams, she is credited with ushering in a new era of power and athleticism on the women's professional tennis tour.
Daniela Hantuchová is a Slovak tennis commentator and retired player. She turned professional in 1999 and had her breakthrough year in 2002, when she won her first WTA Tour title at the Indian Wells Masters, defeating Martina Hingis in the final and becoming the lowest-ranked player to ever win the tournament. She also reached the quarterfinals of that year's Wimbledon Championships and US Open, ending the year in the top ten. She was part of the Slovak team that won the 2002 Fed Cup and the 2005 Hopman Cup.
Ai Sugiyama is a Japanese former tennis player. She reached the world No. 1 ranking in women's doubles on the WTA Tour and had a career-high singles ranking of world No. 8, achieved on February 9, 2004. In her career, she won six singles and 37 doubles titles, including three Grand Slam titles, and one Grand Slam mixed doubles title. Sugiyama held the all-time record, for both male and female players, for her 62 consecutive Grand Slam main-draw appearances, until she was surpassed by Roger Federer at the 2015 Wimbledon Championships.
Katarina Srebotnik is a Slovenian professional tennis player. She reached her career-high singles ranking of world No. 20 on 7 August 2006. On 4 July 2011, she reached No. 1 of the WTA doubles rankings, holding this ranking for 10 weeks.
Maria Yuryevna Kirilenko-Stepanova is a Russian former professional tennis player. A junior Grand Slam champion at the 2002 US Open at the age of 15, she went on to become a top ten player in both singles and doubles. Kirilenko won six WTA singles titles and 12 doubles titles. She was a three Grand Slam singles quarterfinalist, a semifinalist at the 2012 London Olympics, and reached a career-high ranking of world No. 10 on 10 June 2013. In women's doubles, she became ranked as high as No. 5 in the world on 24 October 2011, and reached two Grand Slam finals, at the 2011 Australian Open with Azarenka and the 2012 French Open with compatriot Nadia Petrova. Along with Petrova, Kirilenko won the 2012 WTA Tour Championships in doubles and was a bronze medalist at the 2012 London Olympics.
Samantha Jane Stosur is an Australian professional tennis player. She is a former world No. 1 in doubles, a ranking which she first achieved on 6 February 2006 and held for 61 consecutive weeks. Also a former top ten singles player, Stosur reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 4 on 21 February 2011 and spent a total of 165 weeks ranked inside the top ten, between March 2010 and June 2013. Stosur was also the top-ranked Australian singles player for 452 consecutive weeks, from October 2008 to June 2017, and was ranked inside the top 25 for a period of nine straight years. She has won a combined total of 40 titles on the WTA Tour - including eight Grand Slam titles - and has amassed over $19 million in prize money.
Gisela Dulko is a retired Argentine tennis player. Although she enjoyed modest success in singles, reaching a career-high ranking of world No. 26 and winning four WTA titles, her speciality was doubles, where she achieved the world No. 1 ranking and won 17 WTA titles. Partnering with Flavia Pennetta, Dulko won the 2010 WTA Tour Championships and the 2011 Australian Open. She also reached the mixed-doubles final at the 2011 US Open, with Edward Schwank. During her career, Dulko upset a number of top players on the tour, including Maria Sharapova in the second round of Wimbledon in 2009, Samantha Stosur in the third round of Roland Garros in 2011, and Martina Navratilova in the second round of Wimbledon in 2004 and in Navratilova's final Grand Slam singles match.
Svetlana Kuznetsova defeated Elena Dementieva in the final, 6–3, 7–5 to win the Women's Singles tennis title at the 2004 US Open. She lost only one set the tournament. She became the third Russian woman, after Anastasia Myskina and Maria Sharapova, to win a major that year. This was also the second-ever all-Russian major final.
María José Martínez Sánchez is a Spanish retired professional tennis player. In singles, she has won five WTA singles titles, her biggest being a Premier 5 title at the 2010 Italian Open where she defeated two former World No. 1 players, Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, en route to the title. As a junior, she won the Orange Bowl and French Open. She reached her career high ranking in singles of World No. 19 on 10 May 2010.
Justine Henin defeated Svetlana Kuznetsova in the final, 6–1, 6–3 to win the Women's Singles tennis title at the 2007 US Open. She did not lose a set during the tournament. It would be her last major title, as well as her final US Open appearance.

Serena and Venus Williams defeated Květa Peschke and Katarina Srebotnik in the final, 6–2, 6–3 to win the Women's Doubles tennis title at the 2010 French Open. With the win, they became the sixth and seventh women to complete a non-calendar year Grand Slam in doubles. Additionally, the Williams sisters jointly gained the world No. 1 doubles ranking for the first time, becoming the first sisters to be co-ranked World No. 1 in doubles. The win also gave them their second career Golden Slam in doubles.

Freja Ravn Nielsen is a Danish badminton player who affiliates with KMB2010 club in Kastrup, specializing in doubles play. She started playing badminton at the age of 6 in Dragør badminton club, and entered the national team since 2016. As a junior player, she was the silver medalists at the 2018 European Junior Championships in the team and girls' doubles events.
