Ryan Harrison and Michael Venus won the men's doubles tennis title at the 2017 French Open, defeating Santiago González and Donald Young in the final, 7–6(7–5), 6–7(4–7), 6–3. In a rare coincidence, none of the four players had ever previously appeared in the men's doubles finals of a Grand Slam tournament prior to the event.

Pavić also usurped Robert Farah for the ATP No. 1 doubles ranking by winning the title after Farah lost in the second round.
Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert defeated Alexander Bublik and Andrey Golubev in the final, 4–6, 7–6(7–1), 6–4, to win the men's doubles title at the 2021 French Open. It was their second French Open title and fifth major title together. They saved match points in their semifinal match against Juan Sebastián Cabal and Robert Farah. Bublik and Golubev became the first male Kazakhstani players to reach a major final.
Hubert Hurkacz and John Isner defeated Wesley Koolhof and Neal Skupski in the final, 7–6(7–5), 6–4 to win the men's doubles title at the 2022 Miami Open. Isner completed the Sunshine Double, having previously won the title at Indian Wells alongside Jack Sock. He became the first player to do so in men's doubles since Pierre-Hugues Herbert and Nicolas Mahut in 2016.
