The 2018 James Madison Dukes men's soccer team represented James Madison University during the 2018 NCAA Division I men's soccer season. It was the university's 51st season fielding a men's varsity soccer program, and the university's 40th in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Contents

The season was highlighted by the Dukes winning both the CAA Regular season as well as the 2018 CAA Men's Soccer Tournament, making it their sixth tournament championship, and their seventh regular season championship. The Dukes earned an automatic berth into the 2018 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament, where they had their best run in program history, reaching the quarterfinals (Elite Eight) of the competition.

JMU was a charter member of the Colonial Athletic Association, which sponsors sports at the NCAA Division I level. The Dukes, led by fourth-year head coach Sean O'Regan, played their home games at the James Madison University Convocation Center as members of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). They finished the season 25–4, 16–2 in CAA play, to win a share of the CAA regular season title. They received the number two seed in the CAA women's tournament, and were moments from taking the floor against Elon when the tournament was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 2021 CAA men's soccer tournament was the postseason men's soccer tournament for the Colonial Athletic Association held from November 11 through November 14, 2021. The tournament was held at Hofstra Soccer Stadium in Hempstead, NY. The four-team single-elimination tournament consisted of two rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the James Madison Dukes. They were unable to defend their crown as they were under a post season ban from the CAA. The Hofstra Pride won the tournament by defeating Elon 3–2 in the final. The conference tournament title was the fifth overall for the Hofstra men's soccer program all of which have come under head coach Richard Nuttall. As tournament champions, Hofstra earned the CAA's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament.
