The Major League Baseball (MLB) season schedule generally consists of 162 games for each of the 30 teams in the American League (AL) and National League (NL), played over approximately six months – a total of 2,430 games, plus the postseason. The 2014 Ole Miss Rebels baseball team represented the University of Mississippi, familiarly known as Ole Miss, in the 2014 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Rebels were led by 14th-year head coach Mike Bianco, and played their home games in Oxford at Swayze Field, adjacent to campus. They compete in the Southeastern Conference's Western Division, and won their division in 2014.

Amid an otherwise undistinguished decade, the Missouri Tigers baseball team won the Big 12 Conference tournament in 2012. The team moved from the Big 12 Conference to the Eastern division of the Southeastern Conference in 2013. The Tigers struggled the first two seasons after the change of Conference, then improved to a limited extent. As of 2018 their best performance during the decade in a Conference league was in 2015 and their best overall performance was in 2018. Tim Jamieson retired as head coach in 2016 after 22 years, to be replaced by Steve Bieser.

The 2018 Minnesota Twins season was the 58th season for the Minnesota Twins franchise in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, their ninth season at Target Field and the 118th overall in the American League. The Twins began the season on March 29 on the road against the Baltimore Orioles and ended the season at home against the Chicago White Sox. The Twins finished the 2018 season at 78–84, 13 games out of first place in a weak American League Central division. The record led to the firing of manager Paul Molitor the day after the season ended. Also, this season would prove to be the 15th and final season for career Twin Joe Mauer, who retired following the season.

The Mississippi State–Ole Miss baseball rivalry is a college baseball rivalry between the Mississippi State Bulldogs baseball team of Mississippi State University, in Starkville, Mississippi and the Ole Miss Rebels baseball team of the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi. The rivalry series has included a single neutral-site game since 1980, known first as the Mayor's Trophy and later as the Governor's Cup. This game is in addition to the games played as part of the Southeastern Conference schedule.

The 2018–19 Ole Miss Rebels women's basketball team represented the University of Mississippi during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Rebels, led by first-year head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin, played their home games at the Pavilion at Ole Miss and competed as members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They finished the season 9–22, 3–13 in SEC play to finish in a tie for twelfth place. They lost in the first round of the SEC women's tournament to Florida.

The 2022 Ole Miss Rebels baseball team represented the University of Mississippi in the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Rebels played their home games at Swayze Field. In 2022, the Rebels went from the last team into the field of 64 NCAA tournament to the National Champions. The Rebels began their post-season with a loss in the SEC Tournament to Vanderbilt before they got hot. As the 3 seed in the Miami regional, the Rebels demolished the field, defeating Arizona, the host team Miami, and Arizona again to head to a Super Regional. In the Super Regionals, the Rebels traveled to Hattiesburg, MS where Southern Mississippi played host. In front of record crowds, Ole Miss outscored Southern Miss 15-0 in a two-game routing to head to Omaha for the first time since 2014. In Omaha, the Rebels remained hot, taking down Auburn and SEC foe Arkansas, before losing its first postseason game to Arkansas in a potential elimination game for the Razorbacks. In game three of the series against Arkansas, Rebel pitcher Dylan DeLucia threw a complete-game shutout to push the Rebels to their first College World Series championship game in program history. The Rebels ran through Oklahoma in two games to win the 2022 College World Series and complete their last-to-first run. The team was featured in the 2022 documentary, Belief: The Season Ole Miss Baseball.
