Anthony Sinisuka Ginting is an Indonesian badminton player. He first rose to prominence when he won the bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games. At the 2020 Olympics, he won bronze in the men's singles event. He became the first Youth Olympic badminton medalist to win a medal at the Olympics, having also won bronze in 2014. Ginting was part of Indonesia winning team at the 2020 Thomas Cup.

The Boys' Singles tournament of the 2016 Badminton Asia Junior Championships was held from July 13–17. The defending champions of the last edition is Lin Guipu from China. Kantaphon Wangcharoen, Chirag Sen and Koki Watanabe were the top 3 seeded this year. Sun Feixiang of China emerged as the champion after beat Lee Chia-hao of Chinese Taipei in the finals with the score 21–13, 21–15.

Anders Antonsen is a Danish professional badminton player. He won the gold medal at the 2015 European Junior Championships in the boys singles event, and at the same year was awarded the European Young Player of the Year. Together with the national team, he won the European Men's Team Championships in 2016 and 2018; also European Mixed Team Championships in 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2023. Antonsen was the champion at the 2019 Minsk European Games, 2021 European Championships, the silver medalist at the 2017 European Championships, and the 2019 World Championships, and the bronze medalist at the 2021 World Championships.

Lakshya Sen is an Indian badminton player. Sen is a former world junior no. 1. He has won gold medals at the 2018 Asian Junior Championships in the boys' singles and at the Summer Youth Olympics in the mixed team event. He won the bronze medal at the 2021 World Championships and was runner-up at the 2022 All England Open. Sen was also a part of the Indian team which won the 2022 Thomas Cup. He also won the gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The girls' singles tournament of the 2017 Asian Junior Badminton Championships was held from 26 July to 30 July 2017. The defending champions of the last edition is Chen Yufei from China. Gregoria Mariska, Yeo Jia Min and Pattarasuda Chaiwan were the top 3 seeds in the tournament. Han Yue of China, the 4th seed, emerged as the champion after she beat 3rd seed Pattarasuda Chaiwan of Thailand in the finals with a score of 21–15, 21–13.
