ISSF shooting events

The International Shooting Sport Federation recognizes several shooting events, some of which have Olympic status. They are divided into four disciplines: rifle, pistol, shotgun and running target.

The ISSF World Shooting Championships are governed by the International Shooting Sport Federation. World Shooting Championships began in 1897, after the successful 1896 Summer Olympics, and although the ISSF was not founded until 1907, these early competitions are still seen by the organization as the beginning of a continuous row of championships. By this logic, the 2006 competition in Zagreb was called the 49th ISSF World Shooting Championships. These championships, including all ISSF shooting events, are held every four years since 1954. For the shotgun events only, there is an additional World Championship competition in odd-numbered years. These extra competitions are not numbered. In running target, there will be World Championships in Olympic years.

European Shooting Confederation

The European Shooting Confederation (ESC) is an association of the International Shooting Sport Federation's member federations from Europe, including the Caucasus, Cyprus, Israel and Turkey.

Run archery Sport combining bow shooting and running

Run archery is a shooting discipline connecting archery with running. It is similar to the sport of biathlon.

The European Shooting Championships are the global sport shooting European championships as regards the disciplines of the sport shooting of the rifle and the pistol. Sometimes the competition also includes trap shooting, skeet and running target shooting events, usually organized in special special championships.

The modern pentathlon at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo will take place in 2021 at Musashino Forest Sports Plaza and Ajinomoto Stadium.

Attila Solti is a Hungarian-Guatemalan sport shooter. Before his change of domicile to Guatemala, Solti had an extensive competitive career for his native Hungary in shooting. He won a total of twenty-nine medals in a major international competition, including two golds in both 10 and 50 m running target at World Championships and had set two world records in just a single season.

Royal Spanish Olympic Shooting Federation

The Royal Spanish Olympic Shooting Federation, SpanishReal Federación Española de Tiro Olímpico (RFETO), organizes all shooting sports in Spain and is amongst other a member of the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC), the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) and the European Shooting Confederation (ESC).

2016 European 10 m Events Championships

The 2016 European 10 m Events Championships were held in Audi Aréna, Győr, Hungary from February 22 to 28, 2016.

2017 European Shooting Championships

The 2017 European Shooting Championships was held in Baku, Azerbaijan from 21 July – 4 August 2017. 932 athletes from 43 countries contested 79 sets of medals in 25m, 50m, 300m, rifle and pistol, Shotgun and RT events. Qualification for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games also took place and included 10m events. The Championship was organised by the Azerbaijan Shooting Federation and the Youth and Sports Ministry.

2018 European 10 m Events Championships

The 2018 European 10 m Events Championships took place in Audi Aréna, Győr, Hungary from 16 to 26 February 2018.

The 2004 European 10 m Events Championships were held in Győr, Hungary.

The European Junior Shooting Championships are the main shooting championships in Europe organize by European Shooting Confederation (ESC).

Ihor Kizyma is a Ukrainian sport shooter. He is the 2019 European silver and bronze medalist as well as multiple World and European junior champion and medalist.

2019 European Shooting Championships

The 2019 European Shooting Championships were held in Bologna and Tolmezzo, Italy from 12 to 23 September 2019.

The 2014 European Shotgun Championships was the 60th edition of the global shotgun competition, European Shotgun Championships, organised by the European Shooting Confederation.

The 2021 European Shooting Championships (40th) was held from 22 May to 5 June 2021 in Osijek, Croatia. 1473 athletes from 52 countries and 3123 starts.
