The 2019 FEI European Championships was held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, from 19 to 25 August 2019. Competitions was held in three disciplines; jumping, dressage and para-dressage.

The equestrian events at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney included dressage, eventing, and show jumping. All three disciplines had both individual and team competitions.
The events of the equestrian at the 2004 Summer Olympics featured three equestrian disciplines: dressage, eventing and jumping. All three disciplines are further divided into individual and team contests for a total of six events.

The equestrian events at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics included dressage, eventing, and show jumping. All three disciplines had both individual and team competitions.
The equestrian events at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome included dressage, eventing, and show jumping. Eventing and show jumping presented both individual and team medals, dressage presented only individual medals. The competitions were held from 5 to 11 September 1960. 159 entries, including 8 women, competed from 29 nations: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Czechoslovakia, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Soviet Union, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Uruguay, and the USA. The youngest participant was Min Gwan-Gi from South Korea at 18 years old, while the oldest rider was Lilian Williams from Great Britain at 65 years old.
Equestrian competitions in all three disciplines at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics were held from 9 August to 21 August at the Hong Kong Sports Institute and Sheung Yue River in Hong Kong. It was the second time that the equestrian events were hosted by a member of the IOC other than the member hosting the main games. Unlike 1956, however, the equestrian events were part of the main games, and were held within the same period.
The 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games were held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, U.S. from September 25 to October 10, 2010. This was the sixth edition of the games, which are held every four years and run by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI). For the first time, Para-equestrian events were added in the program. This was also the first time the games were hosted by a city outside of Europe, and also the first time that all events at the games were held at a single site.

The 2018 FEI World Equestrian Games were held in Mill Spring, North Carolina, U.S. at the Tryon International Equestrian Center, from September 11 to September 23, 2018. It was the eighth edition of the games, which are held every four years and run by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI). This was the second time that North America hosted the Games, the previous time being in 2010, also in the United States.
Equestrian at the2018 Asian Games was held at the Jakarta International Equestrian Park, Jakarta, Indonesia, from 20 to 30 August 2018.

The 2021 FEI European Dressage Championships was held in Hagen, Germany, from 7 to 12 September 2021. Budapest in Hungary was supposed to organise the European Championships but withdrew after the postponement of the 2020 Olympic Games to 2021. First, the FEI announced there will be no European Championships for Dressage, but after several riders, trainers, owners and the European Equestrian Federation (EEF) insisted on a European Championship, Hagen volunteered to organise it. The European Championships for show-jumping will be also held in Germany, at the show location of Olympic gold-medalist Ludger Beerbaum in Riesenbeck.
The 2022 ECCO FEI World Championships were held in Herning, Denmark. It was the ninth edition of the Games, which are held every four years and run by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI). For team events in the dressage and show jumping disciplines, these Games were the first qualifying event for the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Equestrian at the 2022 Asian Games is going to be held between 26 September and 6 October 2023 at the Tonglu Equestrian Centre in Tonglu County, China, and consists of three events, which includes Show-Jumping, Dressage and Eventing.
Equestrian competitions at the 2023 Pan American Games are scheduled to be held from October 22 to November 3. The venue for the competition is the Escuela de equitación regimiento granaderos in Quillota, Chile.
The 2023 FEI European Dressage Championships will be held in Riesenbeck, Germany, from 4 to 10 September 2023. Other cities who bid to host the Championships were Cascais in Portugal and Vejer de la Frontera in Spain, but both cities withdrew. The FEI allocated the European Championships in Riesenbeck on the 21st of October and will count as qualification event for the Olympic Games. In 2021 the European Championships for show-jumping was also organized in Riesenbeck, at the show location of Olympic gold-medalist Ludger Beerbaum.
The equestrian competition at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games will held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from 24 June to 4 July at the Centro Ecuestre Palmarejo.
