The 2019 Queensland Cup was the 24th season of the professional rugby league competition in Queensland, Australia. It was known by the sponsorship name, Intrust Super Cup.

The Queensland Cup, currently known as the Hostplus Cup for sponsorship reasons, is the highest-level regional rugby league football competition in Queensland, Australia. It is run by the Queensland Rugby League (QRL) and is contested by fifteen teams, thirteen of which are based in Queensland, with one based in New South Wales and one in Central Province, Papua New Guinea.
The NSW Cup, currently known as the Knock-On Effect NSW Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a rugby league competition for clubs in New South Wales. The competition has a history dating back to the NSWRFL's origins in 1908, starting off as a reserve grade competition, and is now the premier open age competition in the state. The New South Wales Cup, along with the Queensland Cup, acts as a feeder competition to the National Rugby League premiership. The competition is the oldest continuous rugby league competition in the Australia.
Northern Pride Rugby League Football Club is a Queensland rugby league club founded in 2007. Based in Cairns, Queensland they compete in the QRL State competition, the Hostplus Cup, formerly the Intrust Super Cup (2010–2022) and the Wizard Queensland Cup (2008–2009). The club represents Far North Queensland.
Rodney Griffin is a Papua New Guinean professional rugby league footballer who plays as a prop, second-row and lock forward for the Northern Pride in the Queensland Cup. He is a Papua New Guinean international.
Tyrone McCarthy is an Ireland international former rugby league footballer who played as a second-row or loose forward for the Leigh Centurions in the Betfred Super League.
The New South Wales Residents rugby league team is a representative rugby league team consisting of players who compete in the Intrust Super Premiership competition. They currently play an annual fixture against QLD Cup Representative team, often as a curtain raiser to a State of Origin game. The team is administered by the New South Wales Rugby League and regularly played its home matches at ANZ Stadium.
The 2011 Queensland Cup season was the 16th season of Queensland's top-level statewide rugby league competition run by the Queensland Rugby League. The competition, known as the Intrust Super Cup due to sponsorship from Intrust Super, featured 12 teams playing a 25-week-long season from March to September.
2014 was the seventh competitive season for the Cairns based Sea Swift Northern Pride Rugby League Football Club. They played in the QRL state competition, the Intrust Super Cup. 13 clubs competed, with each club playing 24 matches over 26 weeks. In 2014 the Papua New Guinea Hunters were admitted to the competition and the Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles reverted to their original name, the Sunshine Coast Falcons.

The 2018 Intrust Super Premiership NSW season was the tenth season of the New South Wales Cup, the top rugby league competition administered by the New South Wales Rugby League. The competition acts as a second-tier league to the ten New South Wales-based National Rugby League clubs, as well the Canberra Raiders and New Zealand Warriors. The winner of the Premiership, the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, competed against the winner of the 2018 Queensland Cup, the Redcliffe Dolphins in the 2018 NRL State Championship, which they won 42-18. The Penrith Panthers were the defending champions, following their 20-12 victory against the Wyong Roos in the 2017 Grand Final.

On 27 March, the competition, known as the Intrust Super Cup due to sponsorship from Intrust Super, was cancelled after one round due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first time the competition would not be played out since its inaugural season in 1996.
The Papua New Guinea Hunters is a professional rugby league club from Papua New Guinea that participates in the Queensland Cup in Australia. They have relocated to Runaway Bay, Gold Coast for the 2021 Intrust Super Cup Season. The 2021 Intrust Super Cup will be the PNG Hunters' eighth season in rugby league's Queensland Cup after securing their future with a four-year license from 2019 until 2022. A 37-man train-on squad was announced for the pre season before it was trimmed and the final squad finalized. Doncaster RLFC agreed for Watson Boas to play with the Hunters squad until he was able to return to the United Kingdom. In partnership with PacificAus Sports( Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade), Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League, PNG Hunters and QRL signed a three year agreement titled 'Growing and Supporting Rugby League in Papua New Guinea' in February which will see the PacificAus Sports and QRL assisting to develop the sport in the country by creating pathways for emerging PNG players and also develop pathways for PNG teams like the PNG Hunters Under-19s and Papua New Guinea Hunters women's to take part in high-level Australian sporting competitions The Hunters travelled with a 24-man squad to Queensland after six could not travel due to visa issues. Three consultants were recruited to join the coaching team in order to refine and up-skill the coaching staff through funding by PacificAus sports program.
