The 2019 Hastings Deering Colts season was the 2nd season of the under-20 competition, sponsored by Hastings Deering and run by the Queensland Rugby League. The draw and structure of the competition mirrored that of its senior counterpart, the Queensland Cup. [1] [2]
The Sunshine Coast Falcons won their first premiership, defeating the Wynnum Manly Seagulls in the Grand Final. [3]
The Victoria Thunderbolts moved to the New South Wales-run Jersey Flegg Cup in 2019, leaving the competition with fourteen sides, thirteen based in Queensland and one in northern New South Wales. [4] 13 Queensland Cup teams field a side in the competition, with each team affiliated with an NRL club.

The Queensland Cup, currently known as the Hostplus Cup for sponsorship reasons, is the highest-level regional rugby league football competition in Queensland, Australia. It is run by the Queensland Rugby League (QRL) and is contested by fifteen teams, thirteen of which are based in Queensland, with one based in New South Wales and one in Central Province, Papua New Guinea.
The FOGS Colts Challenge is an 11-team rugby league competition run by the QRL. It is the highest level of junior rugby league in Brisbane before players move into senior rugby. FOGS in an acronym for Former Origin Greats.
The Queensland Under-20 rugby league team, also known as Queensland Under-20s or Queensland U20, represents Queensland in the sport of rugby league at an under-20 age level. Since 2012, the team has played an annual fixture against the New South Wales Under-20s team for the Darren Lockyer Shield. The team features players selected from the NRL, Intrust Super Cup, Canterbury Cup NSW, Hastings Deering Colts and Jersey Flegg Cup competitions. They are administered by the Queensland Rugby League.
