The 2019 Hastings Deering Colts season was the 2nd season of the under-20 competition, sponsored by Hastings Deering and run by the Queensland Rugby League. The draw and structure of the competition mirrored that of its senior counterpart, the Queensland Cup. [1] [2]

The Sunshine Coast Falcons won their first premiership, defeating the Wynnum Manly Seagulls in the Grand Final. [3]

Teams

The Victoria Thunderbolts moved to the New South Wales-run Jersey Flegg Cup in 2019, leaving the competition with fourteen sides, thirteen based in Queensland and one in northern New South Wales. [4] 13 Queensland Cup teams field a side in the competition, with each team affiliated with an NRL club.

Since 2008, the team has played an annual fixture against the New South Wales Under-18 team as a curtain raiser to a State of Origin game. The team features players selected from Queensland's premier under-18 rugby league competition, the Mal Meninga Cup. They are administered by the Queensland Rugby League.

The Hastings Deering Colts was a junior rugby league competition based in Queensland, contested among teams made up of players aged 21 or under. The competition was administered by the Queensland Rugby League (QRL), and was contested by fourteen teams, thirteen of which are located in Queensland and one in New South Wales.

The 2018 Hastings Deering Colts season was the 1st season of the under-20 competition, sponsored by Hastings Deering and run by the Queensland Rugby League. Replacing the National Rugby League's National Youth Competition, the draw and structure of the competition mirrored that of its senior counterpart, the Queensland Cup.

The 2019 Jersey Flegg Cup season is the 49th season of the under-20 competition. The competition is administered by the New South Wales Rugby League and mirrors the draw and structure of its senior counterpart the Canterbury Cup. The Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks are the defending premiers.
