Awards and honors

RMU had three players honored with CHA All-Conference First Team laurels, Senior forward Jaycee Gephard earned her spot with her 28 assists enough to be second highest in the nation. Junior Emily Curlett was a first team defender, as the nation's leader in power play goals. Lexi Templeman (Forward, Second Team), Maggie Burbidge (Forward, All-Rookie Team) and Raygan Kirk (Goaltender, All-Rookie Team) rounded out CHA Regular season awards for Robert Morris. [6]

Defender Jordan Mortlock was named to the 2020 All-Tournament team. [7]

The Robert Morris Colonials are the athletic teams for Robert Morris University, in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh. The Colonials compete in NCAA Division I. In 2020, the school joined the Horizon League as a full member after leaving the Northeast Conference. Several RMU sports that are not sponsored by the Horizon League play in other conferences. Football plays in the Big South Conference, and men's and women's lacrosse respectively compete in the ASUN Conference and Mid-American Conference. The school colors are RMU Blue, RMU Red, and RMU Gray/Silver.

The Robert Morris Colonials men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Robert Morris University. The team played its home games at the Clearview Arena, located at the RMU Island Sports Center in Neville Township, Pennsylvania, United States. The Colonials were a member of the Atlantic Hockey Conference. Until the 2009–10 season, the Colonials were a member of College Hockey America.

The 2010–11 season was not very successful for the Robert Morris Colonials women's ice hockey team, as they won 5 matches in the College Hockey America (CHA) league and lost 19. Nevertheless, new recruit Thea Imbrogno won multiple CHA awards.

Nathan Thomas Longpre is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is currently playing for SønderjyskE Ishockey in the Metal Ligaen. He has previously played in the American Hockey League for the Worcester Sharks, Chicago Wolves, Springfield Falcons and the Peoria Rivermen.

The 2011–12 Robert Morris Lady Colonials ice hockey season saw the Colonials win the CHA Tournament for the first time in school history. The Lady Colonials participated in the Nutmeg Classic on November 25 and 26. In addition, the Lady Colonials hosted the RMU Showcase on December 30 at the CONSOL Energy Centre versus the Bemidji State Beavers of the WCHA.

The 2011–12 College Hockey America women's ice hockey season marked the continuation of the annual tradition of competitive ice hockey among College Hockey America members.

The 2016–17 Colonials were the CHA regular season champions for first time in program history and won the CHA Tournament for the second time. They also appeared in the NCAA Tournament for the first time, falling to Wisconsin in the opening round.

Brittany Howard is a Canadian ice hockey player, currently playing in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) with the Toronto Six. She played college ice hockey with the Robert Morris Colonials women's ice hockey program and was the first Colonial player to win the CHA Player of the Year award.

Qualifying for the 2021 NCAA National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Tournament, the program ranked as the #8 seed.

The 2021 College Hockey America Women's Ice Hockey Tournament was the 19th tournament in league history played between March 4 and March 6, 2021, at the Erie Insurance Arena in Erie, Pennsylvania. Robert Morris won its third tournament and earned College Hockey America's automatic bid into the 2021 NCAA National Collegiate Women's Ice Hockey Tournament.
