The 2020 Swiss Women's Curling Championship , Switzerland's national women's curling championship, was held from February 9 to 15 in Thun, Switzerland. [1] The winning Elena Stern team was supposed to represent Switzerland at the 2020 World Women's Curling Championship at the CN Centre in Prince George, British Columbia, Canada but the event got cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [2] [3]
The event featured the reigning World Champion rink Silvana Tirinzoni from Aarau, the Elena Stern rink from CC Oberwallis and two time World Champion team Binia Feltscher from Langenthal. In the final, Stern capped off an undefeated week by defeating Tirinzoni's team for the third time during the competition. Feltscher won the bronze medal with a 9–8 win over Nora Wüest.

Silvana Petra Tirinzoni is a Swiss curler from Zurich. She is currently the reigning women's world champion skip having won the last four championships, in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023. Tirinzoni also represented Switzerland at the 2022 Winter Olympics and 2018 Winter Olympics, after winning the 2017 Swiss Olympic Curling Trials.
Irene Schori is a Swiss curler from Bremgarten. She currently plays third on Team Michèle Jäggi.
The 2011 World Women's Curling Championship was held in Esbjerg, Denmark at the Granly Hockey Arena from March 19–27, 2011. The Swedish rink skipped by Anette Norberg won the final game over Canada's Amber Holland after a steal of two points in the tenth end.
The 2013 World Women's Curling Championship was held at the Volvo Sports Centre in Riga, Latvia from March 16 to 24. It marked the first time that Latvia has hosted the World Women's Championship. This event was also a qualifying event for the 2014 Winter Olympics, awarding points to countries based on performance at the worlds.
Alina Pätz is a Swiss curler. She currently throws fourth stones on Team Silvana Tirinzoni. She is a six-time world champion and was the alternate player for the Mirjam Ott rink, which represented Switzerland at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Christine Urech is a Swiss curler from Lucerne. She won a gold medal at the 2014 and 2016 World Women's Curling Championships as lead for Binia Feltscher.
Carole Howald is a Swiss curler from Langenthal. She currently plays second on Team Silvana Tirinzoni.
Esther Neuenschwander is a Swiss retired curler.
The 2019 Meridian Canadian Open was held from January 8 to 13 at the Civic Centre in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. This will be the fifth Grand Slam event and third "major" of the 2018–19 curling season.
