The 2021 Tour of Slovenia (Slovene : Dirka po Sloveniji) was the 27th edition of the Tour of Slovenia stage race that was held from 9 to 13 June 2021. [1] The 2.Pro-category race was initially scheduled to be a part of the inaugural edition of the UCI ProSeries, but after the 2020 edition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, [2] it made its UCI ProSeries debut in 2021, while also still being a part of the 2021 UCI Europe Tour. [3] This was second time Tour of Slovenia was participated by Tour de France winner, 2011 by Carlos Sastre and in 2021 by Tadej Pogačar.
The race was won for the first time by Tadej Pogačar of UAE Team Emirates. Pogačar first took the lead when he attacked on the climb of Svetina, the penultimate climb on stage 2. He proceeded to extend his lead to more than a minute on the way to the finish in Celje. He successfully defended his lead on the final three stages, including finishing second to his teammate, Diego Ulissi, on the queen stage to Nova Gorica. Total sum of prizes was 64,766 €. [4]
Four UCI WorldTeams, eight UCI ProTeams, seven UCI Continental teams, and the Slovenian national team made up the twenty teams that participated in the race. Astana–Premier Tech, with six riders, was the only team to not field a full squad of seven riders. Of the 139 riders to start the race, 117 finished. [5]

Tour of Slovenia is a five day road cycling stage race held since 1993.
Rafał Majka is a Polish professional road bicycle racer, who rides for UCI WorldTeam UAE Team Emirates. He is known as a strong climber, and rose to prominence at the 2013 Giro d'Italia, where he finished 7th overall, and 6th one year later; he has taken fifteen victories during his professional career.
Tadej Pogačar is a Slovenian professional cyclist who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam UAE Team Emirates. His victories include three Tours de France, the 2024 Giro d'Italia, and seven one-day Monuments, as well as the World Championship Road Race. Comfortable in time-trialing, one-day classic riding and grand-tour climbing, he has been compared to legendary all-round cyclists such as Eddy Merckx and Bernard Hinault as one of the sport's greatest. In 2024 he became only the third male cyclist, after Eddy Merckx in 1974 and Stephen Roche in 1987, to achieve the Triple Crown of Cycling, winning the Giro, the Tour, and the World Championships in the same year. He is the only rider in history who took the Triple Crown and two different monuments in the same year.
The 2019 Vuelta a España was a three-week Grand Tour cycling stage race that took place in Spain, Andorra and France between 24 August and 15 September 2019. The race was the 74th edition of the Vuelta a España and is the final Grand Tour of the 2019 cycling season. The race started with a team time trial in Torrevieja on the Costa Blanca.
