The 2022 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Olympic Trials, also known as the Canad Inns Canadian Mixed Doubles Trials, was scheduled to be held from December 28, 2021, to January 2, 2022, at Stride Place in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. [1] The winners of this event were to represent Canada at the 2022 Winter Olympics. [2] On December 26, 2021, it was announced that the event would be cancelled due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. [3]

On January 13, 2022, Curling Canada with consultation from the Canadian Olympic Committee and Own the Podium decided to pick the team of Rachel Homan and John Morris to represent Canada at the Olympics. [4]

John C. Morris is a Canadian curler, and two-time Olympic gold medallist from Canmore, Alberta. Morris played third for the Kevin Martin team until April 24, 2013. The 2021 United States Mixed Doubles Curling Championship was held from May 19 to 23, 2021 at the Wausau Curling Club in Wausau, Wisconsin. The championship featured twenty four teams split into four pools of six. After the round robin, the top two teams from each pool qualified for the playoffs with the first place teams advancing to the seeding round.

The 2021 United States mixed doubles curling Olympic trials were held from October 26 to 31, 2021, at Curl Mesabi in Eveleth, Minnesota. The trials featured ten teams played in a round robin tournament. After the round robin, the top four teams qualified for the page playoff. The winner of this event will represent the United States at the Olympic Qualification Event in hopes of reaching the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China.

The 2022 World Men's Curling Championship was held from April 2 to April 10 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, United States. Team Sweden, skipped by Niklas Edin, was the defending championship team. The 2022 WMCC trialed the no-tick rule for the first time at a men's tournament at this level.

The 2022 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship was held from April 23 to 30 at the Curling Club Trois-Chêne in the Geneva Sous-Moulin Sports Center in Thônex, a suburb of Geneva, Switzerland. The event was held alongside the 2022 World Senior Curling Championships. Eve Muirhead and Bobby Lammie of Scotland went undefeated the entire event, beating home team Alina Pätz and Sven Michel of Switzerland 9-7 in the final to win the gold medal.

The 2023 KIOTI Tractor Champions Cup was held from May 2 to 7 at The Co-operators Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan. It was the sixth and final Grand Slam event of the 2022–23 curling season. This was the last edition of the Champions Cup before the event was put on hiatus for the 2023–24 season. The total combined purse of the event was $210,000.
