2001 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials

The 2001 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials were held from December 1 to 9 at the Agridome in Regina, Saskatchewan. They were held to determine the Canadian National men's and women's Teams for the 2002 Winter Olympics.

Curling at the 2006 Winter Olympics was held in the town of Pinerolo, Italy from February 13 to February 24. It proved to be the sleeper hit in terms of television ratings in Italy. According to a CBC feature, curling at the 2006 Winter Games drew 5 million viewers, eclipsing ice hockey and figure skating. This, and the success of the Italian men's curling team created a surge of interest in curling within Italy, where there was no previous tradition of the sport and only a few hundred players.

Cassandra "Cassie" Potter is an American curler best known for skipping the United States Women's Curling Team at the 2006 Winter Olympics and the 2005 Women's World Curling Championships. Her sister is fellow curler and long-time teammate Jamie Haskell.

Dawn Kathleen McEwen is a Canadian retired curler from Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was the long-time lead for the Jennifer Jones rink, who became Olympic champions, winning gold for Canada at the 2014 Winter Olympics. McEwen is a two-time world champion in curling, having won with Jones at the 2008 World Championships and again at the 2018 World Championships. In 2019, McEwen was named the greatest Canadian female lead in history in a TSN poll of broadcasters, reporters and top curlers.

The 2009 World Men's Curling Championship was held in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada from April 4–12, 2009, at the Moncton Coliseum. The event, which formally celebrated 50 years of World Men's Curling (1959-2009) plus the 225th anniversary of the host province of New Brunswick, kicked off with a three-hour extravaganza combining the Opening Ceremonies and Opening Banquet, an unprecedented start to the World Men's Curling Championship.

The 2009 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials were held December 6–13, 2009 at Rexall Place in Edmonton. The event is also known and advertised as Roar of the Rings. The winner of the men's and women's events represented Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Canada was guaranteed a team in each event as hosts.

The 2005 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials were held from December 3 to 11 at the Halifax Metro Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The winning teams represented Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy.

The 2011 World Women's Curling Championship was held in Esbjerg, Denmark at the Granly Hockey Arena from March 19–27, 2011. The Swedish rink skipped by Anette Norberg won the final game over Canada's Amber Holland after a steal of two points in the tenth end.

The 2011 World Men's Curling Championship was held in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada from April 2–10, 2011. In the final, Jeff Stoughton skipped the Canadian rink to a 6–5 victory over Scotland's Tom Brewster. The gold medal was Stoughton's second and Canada's 33rd gold medal at the world.

Tyler George is an American curler from Duluth, Minnesota. He is a three-time U.S. Champion, 2016 World bronze medalist, and 2018 Olympic gold medalist. Since the 2018 Olympics, he has taken a break from playing competitive curling, instead spending time as an ambassador and coach for the sport.

The Masters was the first Grand Slam on the men's tour and the third Grand Slam on the women's tour. The purses for both the men's and the women's events were CAD$100,000 each.

The 2013 Canadian Open of Curling was held from November 13 to 17 at Medicine Hat Arena in Medicine Hat, Alberta as part of the 2013–14 World Curling Tour. The event was the second men's Grand Slam event of the season. The event was held in a round robin format, and the purse for the event was CAD$100,000.

The 2016 GSOC Tour Challenge was held from November 8 to 13 at the Western Financial Place and the Cranbrook Memorial Arena in Cranbrook, British Columbia. This was the second Grand Slam of the 2016–17 curling season.

The 2017 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials were held from December 2 to 10 at the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata, Ottawa, Ontario. The winners of the men's and women's events would represent Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The 2017 United States Olympic Curling Trials were held from November 11–18, 2017 at Baxter Arena in Omaha, Nebraska. Five teams qualified for the men's tournament and three teams qualified for the women's tournament. The winner of each tournament represented the United States at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang County, South Korea.

The 2018 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the provincial women's curling championship for Southern Ontario, was held January 10 to 14 at the Whitby Curling Club in Whitby, Ontario. The winning team represented Ontario at the 2018 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Penticton, British Columbia.

The 2018 BOOST National was held from December 11 to 16 at the Conception Bay South Arena in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland and Labrador. This will be the fourth Grand Slam and second major of the 2018–19 curling season.

The 2021 Japanese Olympic Curling Trials were held from September 10 to 12 at the Wakkanai City Midori Sports Park in Wakkanai, Japan. The winning Satsuki Fujisawa team earned the right to represent Japan at the Olympic Qualification Event where they finished in second place, qualifying for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. There was only a women's event, as the Yuta Matsumura rink had already been chosen to represent Japan in the men's event.
