The 2022 Centrobasket Women was the 23rd edition of the women's Centrobasket. The tournament was held in the city of Chihuahua, Mexico, from 23 to 27 November 2022. [1] [2] Puerto Rico won their fourth overall title.
In this round, the teams were drawn into two groups of three and four teams; each group played a round-robin. The top two teams in each group advanced to the championship round, consisting of semifinals, a bronze medal game, and a gold medal game. Semifinalists also qualify for the 2019 FIBA Women's AmeriCup.

Qualified for the 2023 FIBA Women's AmeriCup |
The Centrobasket is a FIBA-sponsored international basketball tournament where national teams from Central America and the Caribbean participate. These countries make up the Central American and Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CONCENCABA). The top three or four Women's National teams typically earn berths to the FIBA Women's AmeriCup, from which they can qualify for the FIBA Basketball World Cup or Summer Olympics. Teams qualify for these tournaments by finishing high in the previous Centrobasket or by placing high at the FIBA COCABA Championship for Mexico and the seven Central American countries and at the FIBA CBC Championship for the 23 Caribbean countries. In total, 31 countries have an opportunity to qualify their national teams for Centrobasket, yet all of them do not enter teams regularly.
The FIBA Basketball World Cup is an international basketball competition between the senior men's national teams of the members of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), the sport's global governing body. It takes place every four years and is considered the flagship event of FIBA.
The Egypt national basketball team represents Egypt in international basketball competitions. The team is directed by the Egyptian Basketball Federation.
The FIBA AmeriCup is the Americas Basketball Championship that takes place every four years between national teams of the Western Hemisphere continents.
The Mexico national basketball team represents Mexico in men's international basketball competitions, The team has made 6 appearances in FIBA World Cup and 5 appearances in the Summer Olympics. The governing body of the team is the Asociación Deportiva Mexicana de Básquetbol (ADEMEBA).
The Russian Federation competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics, held in Beijing, China, represented by the Russian Olympic Committee. Russia competed in all sports except baseball, field hockey, football, softball, and taekwondo. It ranked third in the medal table by the number of gold (24) and overall (60) medals. Russia also had 14 medals stripped for doping violations, the most of any nation at the 2008 Olympics, although in terms of gold medals it got a net positive of +1.
The 2009 FIBA Americas Championship, later known as the FIBA AmeriCup, was the continental championship held by FIBA Americas, for North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. This FIBA AmeriCup championship served as a qualifying tournament for the 2010 FIBA World Championship in Turkey. Each of the top four finishers in the quarterfinal round robin qualified for the World Championship.
The 2011 FIBA Americas Championship for Men, later known as the FIBA AmeriCup, was the qualifying tournament for FIBA Americas, at the 2012 Summer Olympics, in London. This FIBA AmeriCup tournament was held in Mar del Plata, Argentina, from August 30 to September 11, 2011. Argentina won the title, defeating Brazil, 80–75, in the final match. This was the country's second AmeriCup championship.
The 2010 Men's Central American and Caribbean Basketball Championship, also known as 2010 Centrobasket, was hosted in the Dominican Republic. This edition was the first time that the Centrobasket featured ten teams in the finals; previously, eight teams had qualified. Puerto Rico won the title with an 89-80 victory over Dominican Republic. Panama captured the bronze medal with a 75-74 victory over Cuba. All four teams qualified for the FIBA Americas Championship 2011. Jamaica finished 5th for their best ever performance at the tournament while Belize finished 7th to match their best performance. The British Virgin Islands finished 8th after qualifying for Centrobasket for the first time in their history.

The 2015 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship for Women was the 32nd edition of the European Under-18 Women's Basketball Championship. 16 teams participated in the competition, held in Celje, Slovenia, from 30 July to 9 August 2015.
The 2017 FIBA Women's Asia Cup was the qualifying tournament for FIBA Asia and FIBA Oceania at the 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup in Spain. The tournament was held from 23 to 29 July in Bangalore, India. Before this edition, the tournament was known as the FIBA Asia Championship for Women, and only involved FIBA Asia members. FIBA Oceania teams Australia and New Zealand, as well as Fiji competed in the tournament for the first time.
The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualification for the FIBA Americas region, began in November 2017 and concluded in February 2019. The process determined the seven teams that would participate at the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
The 2018 Women's Centrobasket Championship was the 21st edition of the women's Centrobasket. It was held in the city of Manatí, Puerto Rico, from 20 to 24 August 2018. The tournament was scheduled to include eight teams, including the Virgin Islands, but they withdrew.
The 2021 Centrobasket Women was the 22nd edition of the women's Centrobasket. The tournament was held in the city of San Salvador, El Salvador, from 24 to 28 March 2021. Puerto Rico won their third overall title.
The 2023 FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship was the men's international basketball competition that was held in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, from 5 to 11 June 2023. The top four teams qualified for the 2024 FIBA Under-17 Basketball World Cup in Turkey.
The 2023 FIBA Under-16 Women's Americas Championship was an international basketball competition held in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, from 13 to 19 June 2023. It was the eighth edition of the FIBA Under-16 Women's Americas Championship. The top four teams qualified for the 2024 FIBA Under-17 Women's Basketball World Cup in Mexico.
