The Erovnuli Liga is the top division of professional football in Georgia. Since 1990, it has been organized by the Professional Football League of Georgia and Georgian Football Federation. From 1927 to 1989, the competition was held as a regional tournament within the Soviet Union. From 2017, the Erovnuli Liga switched to a spring-autumn system, with only 10 clubs in the top flight.
Davit Kvirkvelia, nicknamed Dato, is a Georgian football manager and a former player. Most recently he was the head coach of Kolkheti 1913.
The 2011–12 Umaglesi Liga was the 23rd season of top-tier football in Georgia. It began on 6 August 2011 and ended on 21 May 2012. The league added two teams for this season, increasing its size from ten to twelve teams.
The 2012–13 Umaglesi Liga was the 24th season of top-tier football in Georgia. The season began on 10 August 2012 and ended on 19 May 2013.
The 2012–13 Georgian Cup is the sixty-ninth season overall and the twenty-third since independence of the Georgian annual football tournament. The competition began on 29 August 2012 and will end with the final in May 2013. The defending champions are Dila Gori, after winning their first ever Georgian Cup last season. The winner of the competition will qualify for the second qualifying round of the 2013–14 UEFA Europa League.

The 2015–16 Umaglesi Liga was the 27th season of top-tier football in Georgia. Dila Gori were the defending champions. The season began on 13 August 2015 and ended on 22 May 2016. It was a last season with an autumn-spring schedule before the changes of competition format to spring-autumn schedule from 2017 season.
The 2015–16 Georgian Cup was the nighteen season overall and the twenty-six since independence of the Georgian annual football tournament. The competition began on 17 August 2015 and finished on 18 May 2016.
The 2016 Umaglesi Liga was a special transitional season of top-tier football in Georgia. Dinamo Tbilisi were the defending champions. This transitional season is a result of the Georgian Football Federation's decision to change the Umaglesi Liga season from an Autumn–Spring schedule to a Spring–Autumn one. The season began on 7 August 2016 and concluded with the second leg of the championship final on 11 December 2016.
The 2017 Erovnuli Liga was the 29th season of top-tier football in Georgia. Samtredia are the defending champions. The season began on 4 March 2017 and ended on 26 November 2017.
The 2018 Erovnuli Liga was the 30th season of top-tier football in Georgia. Torpedo Kutaisi were the defending champions. The season began on 2 March 2018 and finished on 8 December 2018.
The 2019 Erovnuli Liga or Crystalbet Erovnuli Liga 2019 was the 31st season of top-tier football in Georgia. Saburtalo Tbilisi were the defending champions. The season began on 1 March 2019 and ended on 1 December 2019.
The 2020 Erovnuli Liga or Crystalbet Erovnuli Liga 2020 was the 32nd season of top-tier football in Georgia. Dinamo Tbilisi were the defending champions. The season began on 29 February 2020 and ended on 10 December 2020. The league winner, Dinamo Tbilisi, earned a place in the UEFA Champions League and the second and third-placed clubs, Dinamo Batumi and Dila Gori respectively, earned a place in the new UEFA Europa Conference League.

The 2023 season was the 100th season in the existence of Dinamo Batumi and their fifth successive season in the Erovnuli Liga, the top division of Georgian football. In addition to the domestic league, this year the club participated in the national cup, the Georgian Super Cup and UEFA Europa Conference League.
The 2023 season was Torpedo's 77th year in existence and 14th consecutive season in the top flight of Georgian football. In addition to the national league and David Kipiani Cup, the club participated in this season's edition of the Georgian Super Cup and UEFA Europa Conference League as the cup holder of the previous year.
