The 2022 Horizon League baseball tournament was held from May 25 through 28. The top six of the league's seven teams met in the double-elimination tournament held at Nischwitz Stadium in Fairborn, Ohio, home field of Wright State. The winner of the tournament earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. [2] [3]
The league's teams were seeded one through six based on winning percentage, using conference games only. The bottom four seeds participated in a play-in round, with winners advancing to a double-elimination tournament also including the top two seeds.

The Youngstown State Penguins are the athletic teams of Youngstown State University of Youngstown, Ohio. The university is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's (NCAA) Division I, and the Penguins compete in football as members of the Missouri Valley Football Conference. Most other sports compete as members of the Horizon League.
The 2012 Horizon League baseball tournament took place from May 23 through 27. All six of the league's teams met in the double-elimination tournament held at UIC's Les Miller Field. The six team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Cleveland State Vikings were the defending champions. They were unable to defend their crown, as they didn't qualify for the tournament with their eighth place regular season finish. Green Bay would finish as tournament champions after defeating top seed Oakland 1–0 in the Final. This was the second overall title for Green Bay and first for head coach Jeremy Bonomo. As tournament champions, Green Bay earned the Horizon League's automatic berth into the 2023 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament.
