The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) is one of the six continental confederations of international association football. The OFC has 13 members, 11 of which are full members and two which are associate members not affiliated with FIFA. It promotes the game in Oceania and allows the member nations to qualify for the FIFA World Cup.

It has 47 member countries most of which are located in Asia. Australia, formerly in OFC, joined AFC in 2006. Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands, both territories of the United States, are also AFC members that are geographically in Oceania. The Asian Ladies Football Confederation (ALFC) was the section of AFC who managed women's association football in Asia. The group was independently founded in April 1968 in a meeting involving Taiwan, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore. In 1986 ALFC merged with AFC.

Tahiti national beach soccer team represents Tahiti or French Polynesia in international beach soccer competitions and is controlled by the FTF and the FFF, the governing body for football in Tahiti. In contrast to the fortunes of the association football team, Tahiti's beach soccer has, since 2011, been one of the strongest teams in world beach soccer. The team made history at the 2013 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup by becoming the first Pacific nation to qualify for the knockout stages of an international FIFA tournament. At the 2015 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Tahiti beat Italy in a penalty shootout to become the first Pacific nation to ever make it to a final in a FIFA tournament. They followed this up with another appearance in the 2017 final.
The 2012 OFC Nations Cup was an international football tournament that was held in the Solomon Islands from 1 to 10 June 2012. The 11 national teams involved in the tournament were required to register a squad of players; only players in these squads were eligible to take part in the tournament. An initial four-team qualifying phase took place in Samoa from 22 to 26 November 2011 allowing the winner, Samoa, to move on and join the other seven teams at the main tournament.

Samoa's U20 home ground is Toleafoa J.S Blatter Soccer Stadium in Apia. It was known as the Western Samoa national under-20 football team until 1997, following the renaming of the country. Samoa is a part of the FIFA Goal project. The 2022 squad consisted of 18 non-Samoan based players out of a squad of 26, this was made possible through extensive worldwide scouting, no other country in the OFC region has seen this amount of off shore players in an U20 squad.

The 2022 OFC U-17 Women's Championship, originally to be held as the 2021 OFC U-16 Women's Championship, was to be the 5th edition of the OFC U-16/U-17 Women's Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organised by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) for the women's under-16/under-17 national teams of Oceania. The tournament will be hosted by Tahiti. The winner of the tournament will qualify for the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in India as the OFC representatives.
