The 13th World Para Archery Championships took place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from 19 to 27 February 2022. [1] Originally the event was to take place in 2021 but it was delayed until 2022 by COVID-19 pandemic. [2] [3] It was the first time the switch to a two-archer doubles format rather than three-archer teams for the single-gender competitions. [4] Athletes from China were unable to travel due to ongoing pandemic restrictions. [5] This was the biggest parasport event in Dubai since the city hosted the World Para Athletics Championships in 2019. [6]

Mete Gazoz is a Turkish recurve archer. He won the gold medal in the men's individual event at the 2020 Summer Olympics held in Tokyo, Japan. He also represented Turkey at the 2016 Summer Olympics held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In the 2023 World Archery Championships held in Berlin, Mete Gazoz emerged victorious, claiming the prestigious Individual title. In an intense final, he triumphed over the skilled Canadian archer Eric Peters, securing his place as the first Turkish archer to achieve the esteemed recurve gold medal in a World Championship.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Archery at the 2016 Summer Paralympics</span> Paralympics event

Archery at the 2016 Summer Paralympics was held between 10 and 17 September 2016 at the Sambadrome Marquês de Sapucaí in the Maracana zone of Rio de Janeiro, and consisted of nine events. The make up of those events changed substantially from the 2012 games, and consisted of three men's events, three women's events and three events for mixed gender teams. Men, women and mixed teams each competed in two events for compound bow, one for wheelchair athletes, the other open, and an open event for recurve bow, the bow used for all Olympic events.

Yasemin Ecem Anagöz is a Turkish recurve archer.

There were 140 qualifying places available for archery at the 2016 Summer Paralympics: 80 for men and 60 for women.

World Para Archery Championship was first held in 1998 in the UK and take place every two years.

Lisa Barbelin is a French archer, who won the recurve events at the 2021 European Archery Championships, and 2022 European Indoor Archery Championships. She has previously won multiple medals at the World Youth Archery Championships, and won bronze medals in events at the 2019 and 2022 Archery World Cups. In June 2021 she was the world's number one ranked competitor. Barbelin competed in the women's individual event at the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Nihat Türkmenoğlu is a Turkish Paralympian archer competing in the Men's compound bow W1 event. He is competing at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in the individual W1 and Mixed team W1 events. He won the silver medal in the Individual W1 event.

Fatma Danabaş is a Turkish Paralympian archer competing in the Women's compound bow W1 event. She is competing at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in the individual W1 and Mixed team W1 events.

Öznur Cüre is a Turkish Paralympian archer competing in the women's compound bow W2 event.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Archery at the 2023 European Games</span>

At the 2023 European Games in Kraków, eight events of archery were contested, all in a target archery format. Five events were held with recurve bows, mirroring the five 2024 Olympic events, and three events with compound bows, which are no longer used in Olympic competition, but are used in Paralympic competition.

The 2022 Archery European Indoor Championships took place in Laško, Slovenia from 14 to 19 February 2022. At the European Archery Indoor Championships was debuted the barebow discipline. Events staged in each of the three disciplines in the senior and under-21 age brackets.

Yiğit Caner Aydın is a Turkish world-champion para-archer competing in the Men's compound bow W1 event.

Nil Mısır is a Turkish Paralympian archer competing in the Women's compound bow W1 event.

Bair Shigaev is a Russian paralympic archer. He competed at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in the archery competition, winning the bronze medal in the mixed team compound event on open class with his teammate, Stepanida Artakhinova. Shigaev also competed at the 2022 World Para Archery Championships.

Archery at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games was held in Konya, Turkey from 14 to 18 August 2022. Traditional Turkish Archery Competitions was heldd at Saraçoglu Sports Venue between 15 and 16 August 2022. For individual competitions, qualification, elimination and final elimination round shots was done, and for team competitions, elimination and final elimination rounds of the teams was done. Qualification rounds in Archery was made accordingly: Men’s and Women’s Recurve bow was 70m. 720 rounds, and Men’s and Women’s Compound bow was 50m. 720 Rounds. Para Archery competitions was held in Saraçoğlu Sport Complex between 09-13 August 2022. Competitions were held in Recurve Bow, Compound Bow and W1 Bows was held in Senior category. The qualification rounds of the competition was done as 720 rounds 70 m for Recurve bows, and 720 rounds 50 m for Compound Bows. Individual elimination and final rounds was done in each category after qualification rounds.
