The Fédération Internationale d'Escrime, commonly known by the acronym FIE, is the international governing body of Olympic fencing. Today, its head office is at the Maison du Sport International in Lausanne, Switzerland. The FIE is composed of 155 national federations, each of which is recognized by its country's Olympic Committee as the sole representative of Olympic-style fencing in that country.
Won Woo-young is a South Korean sabre fencer. He won gold at the Olympics, World Championships, Asian Games and Asian Championships and is the first Asian fencer to win gold in the men's individual sabre event at the World Championships.

Asian Fencing Championships is the fencing zonal championship organized by the Asian Fencing Confederation for the Asia-Oceania zone. The first Asian Fencing Championships was held in 1973 in Tehran, however, fencing in the continent did not proceed actively enough. The tournament restarted in 1989 and it has been held annually since 2007. It awards points for the Fencing World Cup.

Chadalavada Anandha Sundhararaman Bhavani Devi, known as C. A. Bhavani Devi,, is an Indian sabre fencer. She became the first Indian fencer to qualify for the Olympics after qualifying for the 2020 Summer Olympics. She is supported by GoSports Foundation through the Rahul Dravid Athlete Mentorship Programme. She became the first Indian fencer to win a medal at the Asian Fencing Championships by winning the bronze medal the 2023 edition.
Vivian Kong Man Wai is a Hong Kong left-handed épée fencer, three-time individual Asian champion, and two-time Olympian.
Edgar Cheung Ka-long is a Hong Kong left-handed foil fencer, two-time individual Asian champion, two-time Olympian, and 2021 individual Olympic champion.
Amita Marie Nicolette Berthier OLY is a Singaporean, left-handed foil fencer. She attended the University of Notre Dame from 2018 to 2023, clinching 4 individual NCAA Fencing Championships medals. Representing Singapore, Berthier has won 3 SEA Games gold medals and qualified for 2 Olympic Games.

The 2019 Asian Fencing Championships was held in Chiba, Japan from 13 to 18 June 2019 at the Chiba Port Arena.

Yuka Ueno is a Japanese fencer. She won the silver medal in the women's foil event at the 2019 Asian Fencing Championships held in Chiba, Japan. She also won the gold medal in the women's team foil event.
The fencing competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris are scheduled to run from 27 July to 4 August at the Grand Palais strip. A total of 212 fencers, with an equal distribution between men and women, will compete across twelve medal events at the Games. For the second straight time, Paris 2024 will witness both men and women fence against each other in the individual and team events held in all three weapons.
