Asian Fencing Championships is the fencing zonal championship organized by the Asian Fencing Confederation for the Asia-Oceania zone. The first Asian Fencing Championships was held in 1973 in Tehran, however, fencing in the continent did not proceed actively enough. The tournament restarted in 1989 and it has been held annually since 2007. It awards points for the Fencing World Cup.

Finswimming is an underwater sport consisting of four techniques involving swimming with the use of fins either on the water's surface using a snorkel with either monofins or bifins or underwater with monofin either by holding one's breath or using open circuit scuba diving equipment. Events exist over distances similar to swimming competitions for both swimming pool and open water venues. Competition at world and continental level is organised by the Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques. The sport's first world championship was held in 1976. It also has been featured at the World Games as a trend sport since 1981 and was demonstrated at the 2015 European Games in June 2015.
The 2006 European Seniors Fencing Championship was held in İzmir, Turkey, between 4 July and 9 July 2006. The event, sanctioned by the European Fencing Confederation (EFC), was organized by the Turkish Fencing Federation (TEF). 382 senior fencers from 37 European countries competed in the championship's foil, épée, and sabre events. Russia was the most successful nation, followed by Hungary and Romania. This was the first time that the championship was hosted by Turkey.
FIBA Oceania is a zone within FIBA. It is one of FIBA's five continental confederations. FIBA Oceania is responsible for the organization and governance of the major international tournaments in Oceania. At the Annual General Meeting in July 2006, the name of the confederation was changed from Asian Badminton Confederation to Badminton Asia Confederation.
The Asian Volleyball Confederation, commonly known by the acronym AVC, is the continental governing body for the sports of indoor, beach, and grass volleyball in Asia and Oceania. It has 65 member associations, located in the Asia-Pacific region, but excludes four transcontinental countries with territory in both Asia and Europe – Azerbaijan, Georgia, Russia, and Türkiye – along with Armenia, Cyprus, and Israel, which are members of the CEV.
The FIBA Asia Under-20 Championship refers to the under-20 championship for basketball in the International Basketball Federation's FIBA Asia zone. The event started in 1992. It was formerly the Asian Basketball Confederation 22 & Under Championship, before the age limit was lowered to the current 20 in 2002. It was also formerly known as the Asian Basketball Confederation Championship for Young Men. The winners compete in the FIBA Under-21 World Championship. FIBA no longer hold world championships for this age group.

Yuval Shalom Freilich is an Israeli left-handed épée fencer, ranked 9th in the world in 2023-24. In both 2014 and 2015 Freilich won the European Men's Épée Junior Championship. He won the individual épée gold medal at the 2019 European Fencing Championships, the épée team silver medal with Israel at the 2022 European Fencing Championships, and the gold medal at the 2024 Epee Grand Prix event in Qatar.
