The 2023 Newcastle 500 (commercially titled 2023 Thrifty Newcastle 500) was a motor racing event for the Supercars Championship, held on the weekend of 10 to 12 March 2023. The event was held on the Newcastle Street Circuit in Newcastle East, New South Wales and consisted of two races, 250 kilometres in length. It was the first round of the 2023 Supercars Championship and the first round of the "Gen3" Supercars Championship regulations, as well as the last staging of the Newcastle 500. [1] [2]

The 2005 Supercheap Auto 1000 was an endurance motor race for V8 Supercars. It was the ninth running of the Australia 1000 race, first held after the organisational split over the Bathurst 1000 that occurred in 1997. It was held on the weekend of 21 to 23 October at the Surfers Paradise Street Circuit in Surfers Paradise, Queensland. It was the tenth V8 Supercar championship event held at the circuit, the second running of the Gold Coast 600, and the eighteenth annual overall Australian Touring Car event at the circuit, and the twenty-first race meet overall at the street circuit, dating back to the 1991 CART race.

The Newcastle Street Circuit was a temporary street circuit around the east end of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. The circuit hosted the Newcastle 500 round of the Supercars Championship in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2023 with the 2020, 2021 and 2022 events cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 14-turn, 2.641 km (1.641 mi) circuit takes in Newcastle Beach and the foreshore around Nobbys Beach Reserve. The Newcastle 500 was last held, with the council deciding not support the event and voting to remove the permanent sections of racetrack.
