The 2020 Adelaide 500 (known for commercial reasons as the 2020 Superloop Adelaide 500) is a motor racing event for the Supercars Championship held on Thursday 20 February through to Sunday 23 February 2020. The event was held at the Adelaide Street Circuit in Adelaide, South Australia, and marked the twenty-second running of the Adelaide 500. It was the first event of fourteen in the 2020 Supercars Championship and consisted of two races of 250 kilometres. [1]
The race was supported by the opening rounds of the Super2 Series, Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, Touring Car Masters, Boost Mobile Super Trucks and National TA2 Series. [2]

The Supercars Championship, currently known as the Repco Supercars Championship under sponsorship, is a touring car racing category in Australia and New Zealand, running as an International Series under Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) regulations, governing the sport.
The Adelaide 500, since 2023 known as VAILO Adelaide 500 after its chief sponsor, is an annual motor racing event for Supercars held on the streets of the east end of Adelaide, South Australia between 1999 and 2020 and again from 2022. The event uses a shortened form of the Adelaide Street Circuit, the former Australian Grand Prix track. The event is still colloquially known as the Clipsal 500 or simply "Clipsal" after its former longtime sponsor. With attendance at around 250,000 in 2023, the Adelaide 500 is the most attended Supercars Championship race.
Sydney Motorsport Park is a motorsport circuit located on Brabham Drive, Eastern Creek, New South Wales, Australia, adjacent to the Western Sydney International Dragway. It was built and is owned by the New South Wales Government and is operated by the Australian Racing Drivers Club. The circuit is one of only two permanent tracks in Australia with an FIA Grade 2 license and is licensed for both cars and motorcycles.
The Bathurst 12 Hour, currently known as the Meguiar's Bathurst 12 Hour for sponsorship reasons, is an annual endurance race for GT and production cars held at the Mount Panorama Circuit, in Bathurst, Australia. The race was first held in 1991 for Series Production cars and moved to Sydney's Eastern Creek Raceway in 1995 before being discontinued. The race was revived in 2007, again for production cars, before adding a new class for GT3 and other GT cars in 2011. This has led to unprecedented domestic and international exposure for the event. In all, twenty one races have taken place; twenty at Mount Panorama and one at Eastern Creek Raceway.

The event was run at the Adelaide Street Circuit in Adelaide, South Australia, and was the nineteenth running of the Adelaide 500. It was the first event of fourteen in the 2017 Supercars Championship and consisted of two races of 250 kilometres. It was to be the last time Clipsal would be title sponsor for the event, having been so since 2000.
The Bend SuperSprint was an annual motor racing event for Supercars, held at The Bend Motorsport Park in Tailem Bend, South Australia from 2018 until 2023. In 2023, it was announced that The Bend 500 endurance race, originally planned for 2020, would replace the event from 2025, with no event held in 2024.
