The 2023 South American U-15 Championship was an international football tournament held in Bolivia from 4 to 19 October 2024. The ten national teams involved in the tournament were required to register a squad of a minimum of 18 and a maximum of 22 players, including at least two goalkeepers (Regulations Article 49). Only players in these squads are eligible to take part in the competition. The tournament exclusively requires players to be born on or after 1 January 2008 to be eligible, i.e. they must be a maximum of 16 years old by the end of the calendar year in which the competition is played, with no minimum age limit (Regulations Article 46). [1]
Although referred to as an U15 event, the tournament was an U16 competition as CONMEBOL decided to maintain the original age group of players set for 2023, the year the tournament was to be held before its postponement to 2024. [2]
Each national team had to register its list of up to 22 players in the COMET system and then submit it to CONMEBOL by 16 September 2024, 18:00 PYT (UTC−4) (Regulations Articles 49 and 50). Teams were only permitted to make player replacements in cases of serious injuries or illness up to 24 hours prior to their first match of the competition (Regulations Article 57). Teams were also permitted to replace an injured goalkeeper with another at any time during the tournament (Regulations Article 59). All the substitutions must have the approval of the CONMEBOL Medical Commission.
CONMEBOL published the rosters on 2 October 2024. [3]
The age listed for each player is as of 4 October 2024, the first day of the tournament. A flag is included for coaches who are of a different nationality than their own national team. Players name marked in bold have been capped at full international level.
Bolivia announced their 22-man squad on 1 October 2024. [4] [5]
