The 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Qualifier was a cricket tournament that formed part of the qualification process for the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup. [1] The East Asia-Pacific qualifier tournament was hosted at the Vanuatu Cricket Ground from 1 to 8 September 2023, and the top team in the tournament progressed to the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier. [2] The tournament was played as a single round-robin, featuring the national teams of Vanuatu, Cook Islands, Fiji, Indonesia, Japan, Papua New Guinea and Samoa. [3]

Contents

Ahead of the qualifier, hosts Vanuatu played a two-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Japan at the same venue. [4] Vanuatu won the series 2–0. [5]

Vanuatu progressed to the global qualifier by remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament. [6] Vanuatu all-rounder Rachel Andrew was named player of the tournament and batter of the tournament, while her teammate 16-year-old Vanessa Vira was named bowler of the tournament. [7]

The 2022 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier was an international women's cricket tournament held in September 2022. It was the fifth edition of the Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier and served as the qualification tournament for the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup tournament. The 2021 ICC Women's T20 World Cup EAP Qualifier was a cricket tournament that was scheduled to be played in Samoa in September 2021. The matches would have been played as Women's Twenty20 Internationals (WT20Is), with the top team progressing to the 2022 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament. The Philippines were scheduled to make their debut at an ICC women's event. However, in August 2021, the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed that the tournament had been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, Papua New Guinea qualified as the highest-ranked EAP team as of 30 November 2021.

The 2021 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier was a cricket tournament played in Mexico in October 2021. The matches were played as Twenty20 International (T20I) fixtures, with the top team progressing to the 2022 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament. Argentina and Brazil competed in an ICC women's event for the first time since 2012. The tournament's fixtures were confirmed in September 2021. The United States won the tournament, winning five of their six matches.

The 2022–23 ICC Men's T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Qualifier was a cricket tournament that formed part of the qualification process for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The first stage of the qualification pathway in the East Asia-Pacific (EAP) region consisted of two sub-regional qualifiers: Qualifier A in Vanuatu in September 2022, and Qualifier B in Japan in October 2022.

The 2022 Women's T20I Pacific Cup was a women's Twenty20 International (WT20I) cricket tournament that took place in Port Vila, Vanuatu, from 3 to 6 October 2022. It was the inaugural edition of the Women's T20I Pacific Cup. The participants were the women's national sides of Vanuatu, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and Samoa. Papua New Guinea had entered the event after recently competing in the 2022 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier in Abu Dhabi, but the other three teams had not played an international fixture since the Pacific Games cricket tournament in July 2019.
