Claire Antonia Polosak (born 7 April 1988) is an Australian cricket umpire. [1] [2] Polosak is a school teacher by profession. [3] She was one of the four female umpires named by the ICC to stand in matches in the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup Qualifier. [4]

Career

On 8 October 2017, she became the first woman to stand as an on-field umpire in a men's domestic fixture in Australia, in the match between New South Wales and Cricket Australia XI in the 2017–18 JLT One-Day Cup. [5] [6] On 11 January 2018, she became the first woman to umpire a match involving the England men's cricket team, when she stood in a one-day warm up match between England and a Cricket Australia XI. [7]

She was one of the twelve on-field umpires for the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20. [8] She was also one of the eight on-field umpires for the 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament in Namibia. [9] She was appointed as one of the on-field umpires for the final, becoming the first woman to stand in a men's One Day International (ODI) match. [10] In May 2019, the International Cricket Council named her as one of the eight women on the ICC Development Panel of Umpires. [11] [12] In August 2019, she was named as one of the umpires to officiate in matches during the 2019 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament in Scotland. [13] In February 2020, the ICC named her as one of the umpires to officiate in matches during the 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup in Australia. [14]

On 28 November 2020, Polosak and Eloise Sheridan were the on-field umpires for the final of the 2020–21 Women's Big Bash League season, the first time two female umpires officiated in a national final. [15] She became the first female to be involved as an umpire in a men’s Test match in January 2021, when she was the fourth umpire in the third Test on India's tour to Australia in 2020–21. [16]

In February 2022, she was named as one of the on-field umpires for the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. [17] [18] On 9 September 2022, she stood in her first Twenty20 International (T20I) match on 9 September 2022, between Cook Islands and Samoa. [19]

On 15 November 2023 Polosak became the first woman to umpire a Sheffield Shield match when she officiated in the match between Western Australia and South Australia at the WACA Ground. [20] [21]

He stood in his first Twenty20 International (T20I) match, between Pakistan and Australia, on 28 October 2018. He first One Day International (ODI) match as an umpire, also between Pakistan and Australia, was on 29 March 2019.

Samuel J Nogajski is an Australian cricket umpire. He stood as an umpire in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy in India.

Jacqueline Williams is a Jamaican cricket umpire. She has officiated in the 2015 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament.

The 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two was an international cricket tournament that took place in April 2019 in Namibia. It was contested by six teams; Canada, Hong Kong, Oman, Papua New Guinea, the United States and tournament hosts Namibia. It formed part of the 2017–19 cycle of the World Cricket League (WCL) which determined the qualification for the 2023 Cricket World Cup. The final and third-place playoff match were granted One Day International (ODI) status by the International Cricket Council. Namibia won the tournament, after they beat Oman by 145 runs in the final. It was Namibia's first win in an ODI match, and it was the first ever ODI match played by Oman.

Shivani Mishra is an Indian-born international cricket umpire and match referee who is currently based in Qatar, working with the Qatar Cricket Association (QCA). She is an ACC-affiliated Level 3 Coach, Level 3 Umpire and ICC-affiliated Match Referee. Additionally, she is an ICC Asia Coach & Umpire Educator. Mishra has officiated cricket matches as an umpire in Qatari local matches such as Men's Division Matches, and also International matches such as the ICC Men's T20 Qualifier conducted in Kuwait.

Kim Cotton is a New Zealand cricket umpire. In August 2018, she stood in matches in the 2018–19 ICC World Twenty20 East Asia-Pacific Qualifier tournament, and the following month was added to the Development Panel of ICC Umpires.

Lauren Agenbag is a South African cricket umpire. Since February 2019, she has set several firsts in regards to women's umpiring in international and domestic cricket matches.

Rahul Asher is an Indian-born cricket umpire based in Oman. In July 2017, Asher was selected to officiate in matches in the Under-19 Cricket World Cup qualification tournament in Singapore. He was one of the umpires in the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Three tournament in Oman. In April 2018, he was appointed to the Development Panel of ICC Umpires.

Eloise Sheridan is an Australian cricket umpire who is part of the Development Panel of ICC Umpires. In December 2018, Sheridan and Claire Polosak became the first pair of female umpires to stand in a competitive match in Australia, when they officiated in the 2018–19 Women's Big Bash League season. In February 2019, Sheridan and Mary Waldron became the first female umpires to stand in a men's grade cricket match, during a fixture in the South Australian Grade Cricket League. Sheridan was also one of the umpires for the 2019 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament in Scotland, her first international appointment.
