The 2023 Malaysia Tri-Nation Series was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket series which took place in Malaysia in September 2023. [1] The participating teams were the hosts Malaysia, along with Hong Kong and Papua New Guinea. [2] The venue for the series was the Bayuemas Oval in Klang. [3] Papua New Guinea won the series by remaining unbeaten in all of their matches. [4]

The 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two was an international cricket tournament that took place in April 2019 in Namibia. It was contested by six teams; Canada, Hong Kong, Oman, Papua New Guinea, the United States and tournament hosts Namibia. The 2022 Asia Cup Qualification was a men's cricket tournament which took place in Oman in August 2022 to determine qualification for the 2022 Asia Cup. The 2020 editions of the ACC Western and Eastern regional T20 tournaments were held in February and March of the same year by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC). Thirteen teams competed, with the aim of progressing to the qualifier. These were scheduled to be followed by the Asia Cup Qualifier tournament in Malaysia, which was due to be played in August 2020. However, in July 2020 the Asia Cup was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in the postponement of the qualifier. In May 2021, the Asian Cricket Council confirmed that there would be no Asia Cup in 2021, with that edition of the tournament deferred until 2023. It was later announced that there would be a T20I Asia Cup in 2022, to be hosted by the United Arab Emirates.

The 2022 Namibia Tri-Nation Series was the 17th round of the 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cricket tournament, took place in Namibia in November 2022. It was a tri-nation series between Namibia, Papua New Guinea and the United States cricket teams, with the matches played as One Day International (ODI) fixtures. The ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 formed part of the qualification pathway to the 2023 Cricket World Cup.

The 2021 Oman Tri-Nation Series was the 7th round of the 2019–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cricket tournament that took place in Oman in September and October 2021. It was a tri-nation series between Oman, Papua New Guinea and the Scotland cricket teams, with the matches played as One Day International (ODI) fixtures. The 2024 ACC Men's Premier Cup was the second edition of ACC Premier Cup, took place in April 2024. It served as the final stage of qualification for the 2025 Asia Cup Tournament. UAE won the tournament by defeating Oman in the final, and thus qualified for the 2025 Asia Cup. It featured the 8 highest-ranked ACC associate members who were joined by two finalists from 2024 ACC Men's Challenger Cup.

The 2023 Malaysia Quadrangular Series was a Twenty20 International (T20I) cricket tournament which took place in Malaysia in August 2023. The participating teams were the hosts Malaysia along with Hong Kong, Kuwait and Nepal. All the matches were played at Bayuemas Oval in Klang. The tournament formed part of the preparation of all four teams for the 2023 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier tournament.

The 2023 Nepal Tri-Nation Series was a Twenty20 International cricket tournament, took place in October 2023 in Nepal. The participating teams were Nepal, Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates. The tournament formed part of all the three teams' preparations for the Asia World Cup Qualifier.

The 2024 Hong Kong Tri-Nation Series was a Twenty20 International cricket tournament that was played in March 2024 in Hong Kong. The participating teams were Hong Kong, Nepal and Papua New Guinea.

The Papua New Guinea men's cricket team toured Oman in March 2024 to play two unofficial 50-over and three Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The T20I series provided both teams with preparation for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. The 50-over series finished level, with Oman winning the first match and Papua New Guinea winning the second game. Oman won the T20I series 2–1.

The Papua New Guinea men's cricket team toured Malaysia in March 2024 to play two Twenty20 International (T20I) matches. The matches were held at the Bayuemas Oval near Pandamaran. The series formed part of Papua New Guinea's preparation for the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
