The Multiplayer online battle royale video game Garena Free Fire had a tournament at the 2024 Esports World Cup , held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 10 to 15, 2024. Eighteen teams took part in this tournament.
In October 2023, Saudi Arabia announced the inaugural Esports World Cup as the successor of Gamers8, the Saudi Esports Federation's previously existing esports festival, set to take place in Riyadh. [1] The event was developed as a part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, a plan led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman aimed at diversifying the country's economy and reducing reliance on oil. [2]

The 2023 Overwatch World Cup (OWWC) was the fifth edition of the Overwatch World Cup, an Overwatch esports tournament, organized by the game's developer Blizzard Entertainment. Over 40 teams from various countries and regions competed for one of the 16 spots in the 2023 OWWC. The group stage was a no audience LAN event and took place from October 29 to November 1. The knockout stage took place at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, during BlizzCon from November 3 to 4, 2023. It was the first World Cup event since 2019 and the first of Overwatch 2.

The 2024 MPL Philippines Season is the seventh year of professional gameplay and the second year of development talent gameplay for the country. MPL Philippines is a professional esports league for the MOBA game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. The season will be divided into two splits: Season 13 is accompanied by MDL Philippines Season 3 while Season 14 will be accompanied by MDL Philippines Season 4. Season 13 began on March 15 and concluded the season with the Grand Finals match on May 26, 2024. Meanwhile, Season 14 will likely begin by August and end by November.

The event will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 3 to August 25, 2024, and will feature 22 events in 21 different video game titles. It will have the largest combined prize pool in esports history at over US$60 million, encompassing individual tournament prize pools, rewards for teams that qualify to EWC events, most valuable player awards, and the Club Championship, a cross-game competition that aggregates the individual game results of all participating organizations to crown a Club Champion.
The multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) video game League of Legends had a tournament at the 2024 Esports World Cup, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 4 to 7, 2024. Eight teams took part in this tournament, marketed as Esports World Cup presenting League of Legends, two each from the four major competitive regions – LCS, LEC (EMEA), LCK (Korea) and LPL (China). T1 would win the tournament, beating Top Esports 3-1 in the final.
Fortnite is scheduled to have a tournament at the 2024 Esports World Cup, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, between August 8 and 11, 2024. Sixteen teams will take part in this tournament, six having qualified from a LAN tournament at DreamHack Dallas and ten qualifying from online qualifiers. Due to the tournament not being sponsored or sanctioned by Epic Games, the game's developer, the tournament is known as Esports World Cup: Featuring Fortnite.

The first-person shooter video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is scheduled to have a tournament at the 2024 Esports World Cup, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, between August 15 and 18, 2024. Sixteen teams will take part in this tournament, which will include eleven of the twelve teams in the Call of Duty League, as well as four teams from Challengers and a team from a MENA qualifier.
The Free Fire World Series – Global Finals 2024 (FFWS) will be the sixth edition of Free Fire World Series, world championship tournament of Free Fire hosted by Garena.
