2024 Formula Pro USA Western Championship

The 2024 Formula Pro USA Western Series is the fifth season of the championship for Formula Regional and Formula 4 cars established in the West Coast of the United States. The championship is promoted and organized by Exclusive Racing and Exclusive Auctions, and will run under the same sporting regulations as the FIA-sanctioned Formula Regional Americas Championship and Formula 4 United States Championship.

It began in March, with the championship spanning six weekends until November.

Teams and drivers

Drivers are able to enter either the FPUSA-3 or the FPUSA-4 class, with the former using a Ligier JS F3 car and the latter a Ligier JS-F4 car. All cars are powered by Honda and use Avon tires. [1]

New for 2024 is the addition of the Formula Pro Women's Racing Series, a female-only class running alongside the main championship, also using the Ligier JS-F4. [2]

Race calendar

The 2024 calendar is held over twelve races spanning across six weekends. [7] The series races at the same four circuits as the previous year. A one-round winter series was scheduled to be held at the beginning of March, but it was instead converted into two days of open testing. [8]

Trenton Estep is an American professional racing driver. Estep grew up racing karts from the age of 4 years old in New Braunfels, Texas. He competed in various karting competitions such as SKUSA Pro Tour, Florida Winter Tour, US Open and Rotax Grand Finals in Portugal. In 2016 he made the transition from karts to open wheel cars. He entered the Formula Tour F1600, Toyo Tires F1600 Championship Series and Canadian F1600 Super Series winning two championships. He also ran in the opening round of the Redbull Global Rallycross Championship in Phoenix Arizona. In 2017 Estep made his transition from open wheel to cars in the North American Porsche GT3 Cup Series, with JDX Racing. Estep finished on podium 11 of 16 races with multiple wins placing 3rd in the Porsche GT3 Cup Championship. In 2018 he returned to the Porsche GT3 Cup series with JDX Racing with renewed sponsorship by Hertz Global along with a new sponsor Byers Porsche of Columbus Ohio. The 2020 Formula Regional Americas Championship powered by Honda was the third season for the FIA Formula 3 regional series across North America. The series was sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing, the professional racing division of the Sports Car Club of America. The 2020 season was first season under the moniker of Formula Regional Americas, after a rebranding to align with the FIA single-seater development pathway. Linus Lundqvist won the championship, finishing 118 points in front of runner-up David Malukas, meanwhile Global Racing Group dominated the team's championship.
