The 2024 Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks baseball team represented the University of Maryland Eastern Shore during the 2024 NCAA Division I baseball season in the Northeastern Conference under first year head coach Danny Acosta. The Hawks played their home games at Hawk Stadium.
The Hawks failed to make the 2024 Northeastern Conference Tournament, placing last in the conference with a record of 0 wins and 48 losses. This also was the first time in NCAA Division 1 history that a team finished a full season winless. [2]
The 2024 season was the first season following the departure of Head Coach Brian Hollamon, who left the club in 2023. As a result of Hollamon's departure, the University hired Danny Acosta, who had spent the previous 4 seasons with Iowa Lakes Community College as their head coach. [3] Acosta posted a 4-44 record with Iowa Lakes during the 2023 season. [4]

The Big Ten Conference is the oldest NCAA Division I collegiate athletic conference in the United States. Founded as the Intercollegiate Conference of Faculty Representatives in 1896, it predates the founding of its regulating organization, the NCAA. It is based in the Chicago area in Rosemont, Illinois. For many decades the conference consisted of ten prominent universities, which accounts for its name. On August 2, 2024, the conference expanded to 18 member institutions and 2 affiliate institutions. The conference competes in the NCAA Division I and its football teams compete in the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), formerly known as Division I-A, the highest level of NCAA competition in that sport.
University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) is a public historically black land-grant research university in Princess Anne, Maryland. It is part of the University System of Maryland. It is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity". It was established as Delaware Conference Academy. It has also been known as Princess Anne Academy and other names during its evolution.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers baseball team competes as part of NCAA Division I, representing the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in the Big Ten Conference. Nebraska plays its home games at Hawks Field at Haymarket Park, built in 2001 to replace the aging Buck Beltzer Stadium. Francis John McCaffery is an American college basketball coach and the current men's basketball head coach at the University of Iowa. Bobby Lee Collins is an American college basketball coach and the former head men's basketball coach at Maryland Eastern Shore. Prior to Maryland Eastern Shore, Collins had been the head coach at Winston-Salem State University and Hampton University.
The Hartford Hawks baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball program of the University of Hartford, located in West Hartford, Connecticut. The program is a member of the NCAA Division III Conference of New England. The program had been a member of the NCAA Division I America East Conference from 1985 to 2022. It has played home games at Fiondella Field since the venue opened at the start of the 2006 season.

The Lehigh Mountain Hawks men's lacrosse team represents Lehigh University in NCAA Division I college lacrosse. The Mountain Hawks play their home games at Frank Banko Field, which is part of a complex that also includes Lehigh's soccer and field hockey venues. The Central Oklahoma Bronchos football team represents the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO) in college football. The team is a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA), which is in Division II of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Bronchos football program began in 1902 and has since compiled over 600 wins, two national championships, and 27 conference championships. As of 2022, the Bronchos are ranked fifth in NCAA Division II for wins. In 1962, the Bronchos went 11–0 on the season and defeated Lenoir–Rhyne University (NC) 28–13 in the Camellia Bowl to claim its first NAIA national championship. Twenty years later, Central Oklahoma defended its home turf and defeated Colorado Mesa University 14–11 in the NAIA national championship game to take its second title and finish the season with a 10–2 record. Despite its rich history in football, Central Oklahoma has struggled beginning in the late 2000s. The program has not participated in the NCAA Division II playoffs since 2003. The Bronchos play their home games at Chad Richison Stadium, a 12,000-seat football stadium built in 1965, and remodeled in 2022. The Bronchos have enjoyed nine undefeated home seasons and are 5–1 in playoff games at Wantland Stadium.
The 2014–15 Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks men's basketball team represented the University of Maryland Eastern Shore during the 2014–15 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Hawks, led by first year head coach Bobby Collins, played their home games at the Hytche Athletic Center and were members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. They finished the season 18–15, 11–5 in MEAC play to finish in third place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the MEAC tournament to Hampton. They were invited to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they lost in the first round to High Point.
Brian Hollamon is an American college baseball coach and former shortstop. He was the head baseball coach of the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks.
The 2019 Indiana Hoosiers baseball team were a college baseball team that represented Indiana University in the 2019 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Hoosiers are members of the Big Ten Conference (B1G) and play their home games at Bart Kaufman Field in Bloomington, Indiana. They were led by first-year head coach Jeff Mercer.
The 2019–20 Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks men's basketball team represented the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in the 2019–20 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Hawks, led by first-year head coach Jason Crafton, played their home games at the Hytche Athletic Center in Princess Anne, Maryland as members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. They finished the season 5–27, 4–12 in MEAC play to finish in a tie for ninth place. They lost in the first round of the MEAC tournament to Delaware State.
The 2022–23 Utah State Aggies men's basketball team represented Utah State University in the Mountain West Conference during the 2022–23 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Led by second-year head coach Ryan Odom, the Aggies played their home games on campus at the Smith Spectrum in Logan, Utah. They finished the season 26–9, 13–5 in MWC play to finish in second place. They defeated New Mexico and Boise State in the MWC tournament to advance to the championship game. There they lost to San Diego State. The Aggies received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament as the No. 10 seed in the South region. There they lost to Missouri.
The 2023 NCAA Division I baseball season, play of college baseball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began on February 17, 2023. The regular season was followed by many conference tournaments and championship series, and the season concluded with the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball tournament and 2023 Men's College World Series. The Men's College World Series, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA tournament and held annually in Omaha, Nebraska, at Charles Schwab Field Omaha, ended on June 26, 2023, with LSU winning the title.
The 2024 Iowa Hawkeyes baseball team will represent the University of Iowa during the 2024 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Hawkeyes will play their home games at Duane Banks Field as a member of the Big Ten Conference. They will be led by head coach Rick Heller, in his eleventh season with the program.
