The 2024 season is a double round-robin format with each team playing 30 games for the regular season. The top-six team qualifies to the finals series which returned after the format was omitted from last season. [1] [2] The competition's matches were broadcast free and live on Youtube with the addition of the 2024 Waratah Cup. [3]

After 28 matches, closing towards the end of the season, Rockdale Ilinden were named premiers on 18 August, the club's first major title in over four decades. [4] During the campaign, Western Sydney Wanderers were sanctioned for alleged breaches in relation to "several incidents on 5 and 11 May" according to Football NSW. The Wanderers were fined AU$33,500, deducted six points and given 'restricted access' for away supporters. [5]
