2025 Chhattisgarh local bodies elections were held on 11 February 2025 to elect members of local bodies in Chhattisgarh. ^[2] The counting of votes for 10 Municipal Corporation, 49 Nagar Palikas, 114 Nagar Panchayats was declared 15th February 2025.

In the results of the municipal elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party delivered a strong performance, securing landslide victory in 126 out of 173 local bodies, while the Indian National Congress had to settle for just 30. Independents led in 15 bodies, while the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Aam Aadmi Party won one each. The Janta Congress Chhattisgarh failed to make an impact. In all 10 municipal corporations, including the state capital Raipur, BJP's mayoral candidates emerged victorious. Notably, for the first time in approximately 111 years, the BJP won in Kanker Nagar Panchayat, defeating the Congress. ^{[3] [4] [5] [6]}

Voter turnout

On February 11, 2025, voting was held for over 173 local bodies in Chhattisgarh, including 10 municipal corporations, 39 municipal councils, and 114 Nagar Panchayats. The overall voter turnout was 72.33%, approximately 5% higher than the previous election. Rural and tribal areas recorded higher voter participation compared to urban areas. The highest turnout was in Koriya district, with around 85% voting, while the lowest was in the state capital, Raipur, at approximately 50%. Due to administrative negligence, difficulties were faced by voters in several areas. While the polling was largely peaceful, reports emerged of political clashes between the BJP and INC in some locations toward the end of voting. The Election Commission will announce the results for all 173 urban local bodies on February 15. First, the counting of votes for mayors and presidents of urban local bodies will take place, followed by the counting and announcement of results for ward members in order of their respective ward numbers.
