The league stage of the PKL season 12 will have 108 matches, where each team plays 18 matches.
Teams are awarded 2 points for a win and nothing for a loss(no additional bonus is given).
A comprehensive Tie-breaker rule system, including the Golden Raid format, is introduced to all league-stage matches. In case of ties, teams engage in a structured 5-raid shootout with special rules as follows:
- Both teams field 7 players with the baulk line treated as baulk line cum bonus line.
- Each team nominates 5 different raiders who raid alternately.
- Out and revival rules don’t apply–only points scored count.
- If still tied after 5 raids, the Golden Raid rule applies.
If both teams remain tied after golden raids, the winner is decided by a toss.
The league revealed that for the first time, top eight teams have a chance to qualify for the knockout stages. The playoffs journey now flows through three Eliminators, two Qualifiers, two Play-ins and a Mini-qualifier.
- Teams finishing between 5th and 8th position in the league stage contest in Play-ins, with winners moving on to the Eliminator 1.
- The sides in 3rd and 4th position clash in a Mini-qualifier and the winner goes to the Eliminator 3, while the loser gets a chance in Eliminator 2 against the winner of Eliminator 1.
- In Eliminator 3, both winners of Mini-qualifier and Eliminator 2 are faced, then the winner is promoted to Qualifier 2.
- On the other side 1st and 2nd position play Qualifier 1, where the winner advances straight to the Final and the loser gets another opportunity through Qualifier 2 against the winner of Eliminator 3 for the Final.
