Challenge Cup

On 25 June 2024, the RFL announced a change to the Challenge Cup format, totalling 7 rounds compared to the previous 9, with Super League teams entering to play away from home at round 3. [35]

St Helens were first drawn on 14 January to play West Hull A.R.L.F.C. away in Round 3 following West Hull's Round 2 24–18 victory against Hunslet A.R.L.F.C. on 25 January. [36] The fixture was originally set to be played at West Hull's Johnny Whiteley Park in Gipsyville, however after the venue was ruled out due to having an unsuitable pitch, the fixture was moved to Hull Kingston Rovers' Craven Park stadium on the other side of the city. [37]

Following their victory against West Hull, St Helens beat the Leeds Rhinos 22–14 at home on 14 March, [38] qualifying them for the quarter-finals against the Warrington Wolves. [39] St Helens were ultimately knocked out of the 2025 Challenge Cup by Warrington during the quarter-final fixture. [40]
