The 20th Korean Music Awards was held in Seoul, South Korea on March 5, 2023. Hosted by the Korean Music Awards Selection Committee and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency, the ceremony recognized the best music released in South Korea between December 1, 2021, and November 30, 2022.

Unlike other South Korean music awards, the Korean Music Awards are based on musical achievement rather than record sales. Winners are determined by the Korean Music Awards Selection Committee panel comprising music critics, radio show producers, academics, and other music industry professionals.

Nominations were announced on February 9, 2023. Newcomer girl group NewJeans received the most nominations with six, including in all three daesang categories. [1] Producer 250 won the most awards of the night with four, while NewJeans won a total of three awards; 250 also served as the producer for the works NewJeans were nominated for.

The Korean Music Awards is an annual South Korean music awards show that honors both mainstream and underground musical artists from a variety of genres. Unlike other major South Korean music awards, which largely rely on record sales to determine winners, the Korean Music Awards distributes awards based on the recommendations of a panel of judges consisting of music critics, radio show producers, academics, and other professionals within the industry. The first ceremony was held in 2004, and is regarded as one of the most prestigious music awards in the country.

The MAMA Award for Song of the Year is an honor presented at the annual MAMA Awards, a South Korean awards ceremony presented by Mnet. One of the event's most prestigious daesang awards, it was first awarded during the ceremony's eighth edition in 2006—then titled the Mnet KM Music Festival. Having gone through various name changes since its inaugural ceremony in 1999, it was renamed the Mnet Asian Music Awards from 2009 until it was rebranded as the MAMA Awards in 2022.

NewJeans is a South Korean girl group formed by ADOR. The group is composed of five members: Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein. They are known for their girl next door image and 1990s- and 2000s-indebted pop and R&B songs with influences of various dance and club styles.

Min Hee-jin is a South Korean art director and graphic designer. She is the current CEO of ADOR, a subsidiary of entertainment company Hybe Corporation, where she previously served as chief brand officer. She was formerly a creative director at SM Entertainment, where she was responsible for the branding of groups such as Girls' Generation, Shinee, f(x), Exo and Red Velvet.

<i>New Jeans</i> (EP) 2022 EP by NewJeans

New Jeans is the self-titled debut extended play (EP) by South Korean girl group NewJeans. It was released on August 1, 2022, by ADOR, a subsidiary of Hybe Corporation. Consisting of four tracks, the EP draws from synth-pop, hip hop, and R&B and infuses elements of 1990s/2000s musical styles. The melodies are characterized by R&B/hip-hop beats and propelling synths.

"Attention" is the debut single recorded by South Korean girl group NewJeans for their debut extended play (EP) New Jeans. It was released by ADOR as the first single from the EP on July 22, 2022.

The 37th Golden Disc Awards was a award ceremony held on January 7, 2023, and broadcast through various television networks and streaming platforms in various countries. The ceremony was hosted by Sung Si-kyung, Lee Da-hee, Nichkhun, and Park So-dam.

"OMG" is a song by the South Korean idol girl group NewJeans from their single album of the same name (2023). ADOR, a division of Hybe Corporation, released "OMG" for download and streaming on January 2, 2023. Park Jin-su produced the track and composed it with Ylva Dimberg and David Dawood. Written by Dimberg, Gigi, and NewJeans member Hanni, the lyrics are about romantic obsession. An incorporation of R&B, hip hop, and pop, "OMG" features hip-hop percussion, trap rhythms, and a UK garage-inflected groove. It also features plucked staccato synth chords, skittering cowbells, and layered vocal harmonies and percussion. Referencing Park Chan-wook's 2006 film I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK, the music video depicts the members with different mental illusions. To promote "OMG", NewJeans performed it on South Korean music programs, international music festivals, and awards shows.

"Ditto" is a song by the South Korean girl group NewJeans, released on December 19, 2022, by ADOR, a label of Hybe Corporation. The producer 250 composed "Ditto" with Ylva Dimberg, who wrote the lyrics with the Black Skirts, Oohyo, and NewJeans' member Minji. With a sound rooted in Baltimore club, the track incorporates a balladic electronic and dance production with influences of house, breakbeat, and UK garage. The lyrics are about reminiscing a platonic love.
