The 32nd Volyn Battalion is a battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with various duties including the protection of Public Order, Ukrainian territorial integrity and foreign diplomatic missions. It was established in 1994 and is currently headquartered in Volyn.
On 3 June 1994, the 16th Separate Battalion was established at Ulyaniki on the basis of the Missile regiment of the 37th Guards Missile Division of the Soviet Armed Forces. On 6 October 1994, it was transferred to Lutsk [1] where on 10 June 1998, all separate battalions it became the 16th Special Purpose Battalion which was transferred to the Internal Troops of Ukraine on 17 December 1999.
Throughout 90s, the main tasks of the Battalion included thwarting of small scale crimes mostly involving the stealing of copper and protection of borders, thwarting illegal crossing attempts in cooperation with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. [2]
In 2000s, the battalion saw action mostly in law enforcement and thwarting of robberies including carrying out of operations in civilian clothes in some cases. They also maintained public order in Kyiv and Western Ukraine especially during the visits of the President of Ukraine and President of Poland, the Pope and during census. [2]
In 2014 it was transferred to the National Guard of Ukraine as the 32nd Separate Battalion. After the Russian invasion of Crimea and the start of the War in Donbass, the battalion was deployed to the ATO zone [3] to take part in combat in Donetsk Oblast and Luhansk Oblast. It took part in the First Battle of Mariupol and on 9 May 2014, the personnel of the Battalion engaged separatists occupying the office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine successfully liberating it, during the battle, the battalion's commander and another serviceman were wounded. On 14 August 2017, a cross was installed at the construction site of the Church of the Battalion whose foundation was laid by Lieutenant Colonel Vasyl Gurtovskyi, commander of the battalion. A Golden Crucifix was also awarded to the battalion. [5]
Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the battalion saw action during the Northern Ukraine campaign defending the border with Belarus in addition to maintaining public order and curfew in various cities. The battalion also destroyed several Russian UAVs during the war. [2] [6] The medics of the battalion operated in Zaporizhzhia Oblast to heal the wounded. [7] In June 2022, the battalion along with the National Police of Ukraine carried out a search operation in 60 settlements in Volyn Oblast and captured two Belarusian military uniforms, one RPG, guns, 1000+ rounds of ammunition, TNTs, anti-tank mines, knives, walkie-talkies and drugs suspected to be linked to the Belarusian involvement in the Russian invasion of Ukraine. [8] The battalion also received ANTIDRON KVS G-6+ anti-UAV weapons to aid in their shootdown of Russian UAVs. [9]
On 28 April 2024, the battalion was presented with a Combat Flag. [6]

406th Separate Artillery BrigadeCorporal General Oleksiy Almazov is a brigade of the Ukrainian Marine Corps. It was established in 1976 as a part of the Soviet Armed Forces and was transferred to Ukraine following its independence. It was originally a part of the Ukrainian Navy and became a part of the Marine Corps after its formation. It is currently based at Mykolaiv.
The 225th Anti-aircraft Missile Regiment is a regiment of the Ukrainian Air Force tasked with air defense operations throughout Poltava Oblast. It operates a vast arsenal of different missile systems and is subordinated to the Air Command East. It is headquartered at Poltava.
The 43rd Separate Communication and Radio Technical Support Regiment is a regiment of the Ukrainian Air Force tasked with providing command and communication facilities to the units of Air Command South. It is garrisoned in Odesa.
The 3rd Operational Assignment Spartan Brigade "Petro Bolbochan" is a brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine. It is a part of the Ukrainian Offensive Guard and was established in 2014 in Kharkiv. It has taken part in multiple engagements throughout the Russo-Ukrainian war and is currently deployed on the frontlines.
The 45th Operational Assignment Lviv Regiment "Lieutenant Colonel Oleksandr Krasitskyi" is a regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine. It was established on the basis of the 10th Operational Regiment of the Soviet Army in 1992. It has taken part in multiple engagements throughout the Russo-Ukrainian war. It is currently headquartered in Lviv City.
The 31st Public Order Protection Brigade "Major General Oleksandr Radievskyi" is a Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with protection of the public order and the territorial integrity of Ukraine. It was established on January 2, 1992, as the 5th NG Regiment on the basis of the 24th Separate Special Motorized Militia Battalion. It has seen combat during the War in Donbas and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Its headquartered in Dnipro.
The 2nd Separate Mixed Galician Brigade is a brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine concerned with multiple roles including the extraction of Ukrainian personnel from the frontlines, logistical and combat support, maintenance of the public law and order, among other roles. It was established on the basis of the 16th Convoy Brigade in February 1992 as the 2nd Convoy Brigade. Its main headquarters is in Lviv although its units are also stationed in Ternopil, Uzhhorod, Drohobych and Rivne.
The 18th Separate Mixed Brigade "Sloviansk" is a brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with law enforcement and protection of Ukrainian territorial integrity. It was established in 1992 as the 13th Regiment on the basis of the 26th battalion of the Internal Troops of the Soviet Union. It is currently headquartered in Sloviansk but was formerly located in Luhansk before its capture by separatist forces.
The 27th Separate "Pecherska" Brigade' is a brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with the transport and escort of soldiers and prisoners and the protection of the judicial facilities and Ukrainian territorial integrity. It was established in 2006 and is headquartered in Pechersk, Kyiv.
The 50th Separate "Simon Hnatovich Vysochan" Regiment" is a regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with special purpose operations, law enforcement, anti-criminal operations, anti-smuggling operations, mountain patrols and protection of Ukrainian territorial integrity. It was established as the 12th Separate Battalion in 1993. It's units are stationed throughout Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast and Chernivtsi Oblast.
The 13th Separate National Guard Battalion is a battalion of the 40th Regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with the protection of Ukrainian territorial integrity, maintenance of public order and escorting convicts during court proceedings. It's garrisons are located in Khmelnytskyi and Kamianets-Podilskyi.
The 18th Public Order Protection Battalion is battalion of the 11th Public Order Protection Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with law enforcement and maintenance of public order. It was established in 1996 in Yalta but temporarily ceased to exist following the defection of the majority of its personnel to Russia including its commander in 2014 but was reestablished in 2017. It is currently headquartered in Izmail.
The 19th Separate Convoy Battalion is a battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with transport and escort. It was established in 1992 and is garrisoned in Zaporizhzhia. Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, its tasks expanded to the protection of Ukrainian territorial integrity and has this seen combat during the 2023 Ukrainian counteroffensive.
The 26th National Guard Battalion is a battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with protection of public law and order and the protection of Ukrainian territorial integrity. It was established in 2000 and is garrisoned in Kremenchuk.
The 75th Zhytomyr Battalion is a battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with transport, escort, protection of public order and Ukrainian territorial integrity. It was established in 1992 and is garrisoned in Zhytomyr. Its units are stationed in Zhytomyr, Berdychiv, Korosten and Demchyn.
The 2nd Shostkinsky Special State Objects Guard Regiment is a regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with the protection of strategically important sites especially those in Sumy Oblast. It was established in 1991 on the basis of 467th Special Units Regiment of the Internal Troops of the Soviet Union as a part of the Internal Troops of Ukraine. It is headquartered at Shostka.
The 4th Pavlograd Regiment for the protection of important State Objects' is a regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with the protection of important strategic sites. It was established in 1991 and is headquartered in Pavlograd. Pavlograd Mechanical Plant, Pavlograd Chemical Plant and Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology amongst other strategic sites are under the regiment's protection.
The 3rd Nuclear Power Plant Defense Battalion is a battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with CBRN defense specifically of the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant and has seen action against Russian forces during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In its current form, it was established in 1992 and headquartered at Khmelnytskyi.
The 5th Nuclear Power Plant Defense Battalion is a battalion of the National Guard of Ukraine tasked with CBRN defense, specifically of the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant, and has seen action against Russian forces during the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In its current form, it was established in 1991 and is headquartered at Varash.

It was established in 1992 and has seen combat during the Transnistrian war, War in Donbass and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It operates a variety of rotary wing, fixed wing and Unmanned Aircraft. It is headquartered in Oleksandriia.
