Berlin International Film Festival chronology

The 68th annual Berlin International Film Festival took place from 15 to 25 February 2018. [1] German filmmaker Tom Tykwer served as Jury President. [2]

Contents

American film director Wes Anderson's animated film Isle of Dogs opened the festival, becoming first animated film to open the fest. [3] Romanian film Touch Me Not written and directed by Adina Pintilie won the Golden Bear, which also served as the closing night film. [4]

<i>Touch Me Not</i> 2018 film by Adina Pintilie

Touch Me Not is a 2018 drama film written and directed by Adina Pintilie, starring Laura Benson, Tómas Lemarquis, and Dirk Lange. The film was screened in the main competition section at the 68th Berlin International Film Festival where it won the Golden Bear. Touch Me Not is an experiment between fiction and documentary, and addresses the prejudices of people related to intimacy.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Adina Pintilie</span> Romanian film director and screenwriter (born 1980)

Adina Pintilie is a Romanian film director and screenwriter. Who is little known for her raw material work. Her decade-long creative multi-platform study on intimacy, current body politics, and the aesthetics of extended moving image creation encompasses performance, cinema, and virtual reality, and is supported by long-term partnerships and cross-disciplinary research. Her feature length debut film Touch Me Not was awarded the Golden Bear at the 68th Berlin International Film Festival as well as the GFWW Award for Best First Feature at the Berlinale 2018 and nominated at the European Film Award the same year. She also co-founded MANEKINO FILM, an independent production company based in Bucharest.
