AGV Sports Group, Inc., based in Frederick, Maryland, designs and develops safety apparel for motorcycle road racing and sport use as well as snowmobile and bicycling apparel. [1] [2] [3]
In 1947 Gino Amisano created AGV SpA. (Amisano Gino Valenza), a helmet manufacturer in Italy. In 1977 Michael Parrotte formed AGV USA after being granted the exclusive rights to distribute AGV helmets in the U.S. market by Gino Amisano, the founder of AGV. In 1985 AGV licensed AGV Sport to design and produce apparel and other products, excluding helmets, bearing the AGV name and trademark. The unique model of licensing the brand in different countries was the direct result of the original licensing agreement between AGV SpA and AGV Sports Group. By the early 1990s the AGVSPORT logo had replaced the AGV logo on most apparel for aesthetics reasons due to the different graphic requirements of apparel from helmets. From 1992 until 1995 AGV SpA in Italy owned a 51% stake in AGV Sports Group, Inc. [4]
From 1985 to 1999, AGV Sports Group and AGV Helmets US office operated with the same management, offices, and warehouses. In 2001, the AGVSPORT brand name became a fully independent brand belonging to AGV Sports Group, Inc., a privately held US corporation. [5]
In 2017 AGVSPORT America LLC purchased the rights for the AGVSPORT brand in the United States from AGV Sports Group, Inc. AGVSPORT America, LLC is a newly formed company with headquarters in the Dallas, Texas area.
The AGVSPORT brand is distributed internationally through exclusive licensing contracts with current agreements with companies in Canada, Russia, Ukraine, Spain, Italy, Malaysia, Korea, Mexico, India, Australia, Thailand, Brazil, Argentina, Panama and Chile. [1]
AGVSPORT has been the official leather manufacturer of Keith Code's California Superbike School since 1989. For more than 25 years the school have relied on the AGVSPORT suits to protect the hundreds of riders who pass through their school each season. [6] [7] [8]

Grand Prix motorcycle racing is the premier class of motorcycle road racing events held on road circuits sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). Aprilia is an Italian motorcycle manufacturer founded immediately after World War II in Noale, Italy by Alberto Beggio. The company started as a manufacturer of bicycles and moved on to manufacture scooters and small-capacity motorcycles. In more recent times Aprilia has produced large sportbikes such as the 1,000 cc V-twin RSV Mille and the V4 RSV4.
KTM AG is an Austrian motorcycle and sports car manufacturer owned by Pierer Mobility AG and Indian manufacturer Bajaj Auto. It was formed in 1992 but traces its foundation to as early as 1934. Today, KTM AG is the parent company of the KTM Group, consisting of a number of motorcycle brands.
Daniel Pedrosa Ramal is a Spanish former Grand Prix motorcycle racer who retired from competition at the end of the 2018 season. He grew up in Castellar del Vallès, a village near Sabadell. He was 125cc world champion in 2003, and became the youngest 250cc world champion in the 2004 season. He repeated the 250cc championship in 2005.
Dainese is an Italian manufacturer of protective equipment and technical gear for dynamic sports, including motorcycling, mountain biking, winter sports and horseriding. The company was founded in 1972 by Lino Dainese, now a minority stakeholder in the company, expanding through organic growth and acquisitions, including Italian helmet manufacturer AGV (2007). Colin Edwards II nicknamed the "Texas Tornado", is an American former professional motorcycle racer who retired half-way through the 2014 season, but continues in the sport as a factory test rider. He is a two-time World Superbike champion and competed in the MotoGP class from 2003 to 2014.
There are many systems for classifying types of motorcycles, describing how the motorcycles are put to use, or the designer's intent, or some combination of the two. Six main categories are widely recognized: cruiser, sport, touring, standard, dual-purpose, and dirt bike. Sometimes sport touring motorcycles are recognized as a seventh category. Loris Capirossi is an Italian former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer, who competed between 1990 and 2011. He is a former 250 cc World Champion for Aprilia, and was the first Grand Prix rider to make at least 300 race starts, having made his 300th start at the 2010 season-opening Qatar Grand Prix.
Tourist Trophy: The Real Riding Simulator is a 2006 motorcycle racing video game. It was designed by Polyphony Digital, the developers of the popular Gran Turismo auto racing series. Tourist Trophy is one of only four titles for the PlayStation 2 that is capable of 1080i output, another being Gran Turismo 4, the game engine of which is heavily used in Tourist Trophy.
Casey Joel Stoner is a retired Australian professional motorcycle racer, and a two-time MotoGP World Champion, in 2007 and 2011. Stoner served as a test and development rider for Ducati from 2016 to 2018.

The 2011 AMA Pro Daytona Sportbike Championship was the third running of the AMA Daytona Sportbike Championship. The series covered 8 rounds beginning at Daytona International Speedway with the Daytona 200 on March 12, and concluding at New Jersey Motorsports Park on September 4.
