The fixture between AIK and Hammarby is a local derby in Stockholm, Sweden.
The clubs first met in a competitive game in 1920.
The rivalry between AIK and Hammarby is one of the most important derbies in Sweden. AIK and Hammarby are clubs with considerable support in Sweden; in 2015, two of the games between these two teams had an attendance of 41 063 [2] and 41 630 [3] respectively. 23 of September 2018 a derby between these two teams had an attendance of 49,034. It's still the record for a derby in the Nordic countries.
AIK was founded in the district of Norrmalm, which constitutes the most central part of Stockholm City Centre, and therefore have a following in the northern parts of the city centre, as well as a strong concentration of fans in the northwest, roughly along the blue line of the Metro. Hammarby consider Södermalm, the southern district of the city centre where the club was founded, and the boroughs south of said district, their heartland. (Both clubs also maintain a cross-town rivalry with Djurgårdens IF, who counts the Östermalm district, the eastern part of the city centre, as their stronghold.)

Hammarby IF Fotbollförening, more commonly known as Hammarby Fotboll or simply Hammarby, is a Swedish professional football club from Stockholm founded in 1915. The club is based at Tele2 Arena in Johanneshov but founded in the neighbouring Södermalm district of Stockholm City Centre, the area that is the club's heartland.
Djurgårdens IF Ishockeyförening, commonly known as Djurgårdens IF, Djurgården Hockey, Djurgården, is a professional ice hockey team based in Stockholm, Sweden, affiliated with the Djurgårdens IF umbrella organization. Djurgården compete in the Swedish second-tier ice hockey league, the HockeyAllsvenskan. The men's team is the most successful Swedish ice hockey team of all time, as 16-time Swedish champions, 12-time runners-up, 26-time finalists, and leaders of the marathon table for the top flight of Swedish hockey. The ice hockey section was first established in 1922 and has since been playing in the Swedish league system, with the exception of four years in the 1930s when the hockey section was temporarily dissolved.

Allsvenskan 2006, part of the 2006 Swedish football season, was the 82nd Allsvenskan season played. The first match was played 1 April 2006 and the last match was played 5 November 2006. IF Elfsborg won the league ahead of runners-up AIK, while BK Häcken, Östers IF and Örgryte IS were relegated.

The 2014–15 Svenska Cupen was the 59th season of Svenska Cupen and the third season with the current format. The winners of the competition earned a place in the second qualifying round of the 2015–16 UEFA Europa League. The 2021 Allsvenskan was the 97th season since its establishment in 1924 of Sweden's top-level football league, Allsvenskan. A total of 16 teams participated. Malmö FF were the defending champions after winning the title in the previous season, and they defended the championship in the 30th and final round on 4 December 2021 and secured their 22nd Swedish championship title by playing a scoreless tie at home against Halmstads BK, resulting in Malmö FF winning the title on better goal difference than the runner-up (AIK). This was the first time the title was defended since 2017, and the third consecutive defense of the title that went to Malmö FF, having also defended the title in 2014.
The 2024 Allsvenskan is the 100th season since its establishment in 1924 of Sweden's top-level football league, Allsvenskan. The season began on 30 March 2024 and will end on 10 November 2024.
