ASL Airlines Switzerland AG was [1] a Swiss passenger charter and freight airline. The airline operated package delivery services from its base at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg throughout Europe, in addition to transport for the Swiss Armed Forces, humanitarian organizations, and the oil industry. [2] Its head office was in Bottmingen, Basel-Landschaft.

History

The airline was established and started operations in 1984. [2]

In December 2014 the Farnair Group was acquired by Ireland-based ASL Aviation Group.[ citation needed ] On 4 June 2015, ASL Aviation Group announced that Farnair Switzerland will be rebranded as ASL Airlines Switzerland. [3]

The airline's head office moved to Bottmingen, Basel-Landschaft, [4] in proximity to EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, in August 2015. [5] The airline's head office used to be on the Swiss side of EuroAirport Basel [6] then in Allschwil, Basel-Landschaft. [7]

ASL Airlines Switzerland ceased all operations on 1 February 2018. [1]

Crossair Ltd. Co. for Regional European Air Transport was a regional airline headquartered on the grounds of EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg in Saint-Louis, Haut-Rhin, France, near Basel, Switzerland. It became Swiss International Air Lines after taking over most of the assets of Swissair following that airline's bankruptcy in 2002.

EuroAirport Basel Mulhouse Freiburg is an international airport in the French Alsace region, in the administrative commune of Saint-Louis near the border tripoint between France, Germany, and Switzerland. Futura International Airways was an airline with its head office in the Zona Facturación on the property of Palma de Mallorca Airport in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. It operated scheduled services and charter flights for tour operators and other airlines, in Europe, as well as wet lease and ad hoc charters. Its main base was Palma de Mallorca Airport. After failing to re-finance itself the company ceased trading on the 8 September 2008, leaving many passengers stranded in and around Spain.

ASL Aviation Holdings DAC, the parent company of ASL Airlines Belgium, is headquartered in Swords, County Dublin, Ireland.

Airways International Cymru was an airline based in Cardiff, Wales formed by Red Dragon Travel, at the time a leading Welsh travel agency and tour operator. It commenced operations in early 1984, and ceased all operations in early 1988 after financial difficulties arising from the lease of an aircraft to an American airline.

SkyWork Airlines was a Swiss airline with its head office in Belp near Bern and its base at Bern Airport. It primarily operated scheduled flights to destinations across Europe, with additional charter operations throughout the summer months. The airline declared bankruptcy on 29 August 2018 and ceased all operations the same day.
