ASP is a Japanese alternative idol girl group formed by WACK in 2021. They debuted with the studio album, Anal Sex Penis , on May 26, 2021. [1]

History

2021: Debut with Anal Sex Penis

On March 27, 2021, WACK announced that a new group, ASP, had been formed. Initially the members faces were hidden until they reached 20,000 followers on Twitter. Eventually after the gradual reveal of their faces the members were confirmed to be former Carry Loose member Yumeka Nowkana?, former Wagg trainee Naayu, Nameless and Mog Ryan. [2] They released their debut studio album, Anal Sex Penis , on May 26. [1] They performed live for the first time on May 30 at Nakano Heavy Sick Zero in Tokyo, [3] and held their first tour, the ASP's on Fire Tour, from June to July. [4] Their second tour, Tour Starfuckers, was held in August. [5] Their first single, "The Man Calling", was released on September 22. [6] Their third tour, the March of Rogues Tour, was held from October to November. [7] On November 24, the final date of the tour, Naayu left ASP due to a worsening foot injury. [8] During Naayu's final live show with the group, ASP introduced twin sisters, Matilder and Wonker, as new members. [9]

2022: Placebo and major label debut

They released their second studio album, Placebo , on January 5, 2022. [10] Their fourth tour, the Redo Beginning Tour, was held in January. [11] On February 21, they performed a live show called Anti Social Pains at Zepp DiverCity in Tokyo. [12] In March, their fifth tour, Sorry!! It's only for girls, which was a woman only event was held. [13] On March 26, it was announced that two new members, CCCCCC and Riontown, would join the group on May 7. [14] Their second single, "Bollocks", was released on April 13. [15] On May 24, they released their first digital single "Haikei Rockstarsama 2022". [16] From May to July they held their sixth tour, the Acoustic Sad Orchestra Tour. [17] They made their major label debut with their third single, "Hyper Cracker", through Avex Trax on August 31. [18] On September 2, they held a 24-hour live event called 24 Hours Anarchy Anarchy Shit Shit Party People at Yokohama Bay Hall in Kanagawa to commemorate their major label debut. [19] From September to December, they held their seventh tour, the God Save the ASP Tour. [20] On November 30, they released their second digital single "I won't let you go". [21]

2023–present: Delicious Vicious

From January to March 2023, they held their eighth tour, a woman and students only tour titled For girls and students from ASP. [22] They released their third digital single, "No Color S", on March 27. [23] They released their first EP, Delicious Vicious, on April 26. [24] From April to July, they held their ninth tour, the Killing ASP Tour. [25] Their fourth single, "I Hate U", was released on August 9. [26] From August to October, they held their tenth tour, the But I Love You Tour. [27] On November 16, ASP performed at The Underworld in London alongside ExWhyZ and AinatoAoi (a duo consisting of Aina the End and dancer Aoi Yamada), as part of WACK's first multi-artist concert to be held outside of Japan. [28] From November to December, they held their eleventh tour, a free entry tour titled Actually Free but You must come Yaon Tour [29]

They released their fifth single, "Heaven's Seven", on January 17, 2024. [30] On March 27, they performed in London again alongside Gang Parade and Kiss Kiss. [31] Their sixth single, "Black Nails", was released on May 1. [32] ASP are set to perform in London for the third time alongside Bis and Mameshiba no Taigun Tonai Bousho a.k.a. MonsterIdol on August 28. [33] They will release their third studio album on October 2. [34] On October 8, they will perform at the Nippon Budokan in a live show called We are in Budokan "The floor is all ours!!". [35]

Bis, also known as Brand-new idol Society, is a Japanese alternative idol girl group that was founded in 2010 by leader Pour Lui following a brief solo career. With music, performances and videos that are extremely different from the typical idol group, Bis have come to be known as alternative idols. They disbanded at Yokohama Arena on July 8, 2014. Exactly two years after their disbandment on July 8, 2016, Pour Lui, Kenta Matsukuma and Junnosuke Watanabe announced that Bis would reform under a new lineup including Pour Lui, and that auditions were going to be held. On March 30, 2019, Bis announced that they would disband at the end of their "Are You Ready To Go?" tour. On the same day, Watanabe announced that he would be holding closed auditions for a third generation of Bis, and the new and current members officially debuted at Tokyo Idol Festival on August 4, 2019.

Marie Ueda is a Japanese singer-songwriter. In 2008, she made Indies debut and in 2014 under Giza Studio label. In 2023, she departure from the agency Being and has resumed her activities as an independent singer.

The Oral Cigarettes (ジ・オーラル・シガレッツ), stylized in all caps is a four-member Japanese alternative rock band from Nara Prefecture, formed in 2010. The band signed to A-Sketch in 2012 and have released five studio albums, two independent albums, one demo album, one compilation album, three extended plays and nine singles.

Chai was a Japanese pop band from Nagoya. The group consisted of four members: Mana, Kana, Yuuki and Yuna. Formed in 2012, the band released their debut studio album, Pink, in 2017. They announced their breakup in 2024.

ExWhyZ, formerly known as Empire, is a Japanese alternative idol girl group formed between WACK and Avex Trax in 2017. They have released five studio albums, two EPs, and five singles since their formation. They re-branded to ExWhyZ in 2022 and re-debuted under EMI Records.

WACK is a Japanese music production company specialising in alternative idols. The company was founded by Junnosuke Watanabe in 2014, following the first disbandment of Bis and the formation of Pla2me.

Honami "Amy" Furuhara, known professionally as Aaamyyy, is a Japanese electronic musician. Originally a member of electronic pop groups Go Retro and Eimie, Furuhara began working with the psychedelic rock band Tempalay from 2015, and starting a solo career in 2017.

Sora tob sakana was a Japanese alternative idol girl group formed in 2014. They released their debut single, "Yozora o Zenbu", on October 27, 2015.

Mameshiba no Taigun (豆柴の大群), stylized as MAMESHiBA NO TAiGUN, was a Japanese alternative idol girl group formed through the reality survival show Monster Idol which featured on TBS Television's variety show Wednesday's Downtown in 2019. They debuted on December 19, 2019, with "Restart". They ceased activities as Mameshiba no Taigun in January 2024 after merging with Tonai Bousho to form Mameshiba no Taigun Tonai Bousho a.k.a. MonsterIdol.

Go to the Beds, stylized as GO TO THE BEDS was a Japanese alternative idol girl group formed in 2020 after the split of Gang Parade. The group ceased activities as Go to the Beds and resumed activities as Gang Parade at the beginning of 2022.

Piggs, is a Japanese alternative idol girl group that formed in April 2020. They released their debut album, Hallo Piggs, on July 1, 2020.

Cynhn is a Japanese idol girl group formed in 2017. They released their debut single, "Finalegend", on November 1, 2017.

ZOC, formerly known as Metamuse, is a Japanese alternative idol girl group that formed in September 2018. They released their debut single, "Family Name", on April 30, 2019. On July 7, 2022, the group changed its name to Metamuse, before reverting back to ZOC on November 11, 2023.

Migma Shelter, is a Japanese alternative idol girl group that formed in 2017. They released their debut single, "Svaha Eraser", on July 15, 2017. They will go on indefinite hiatus after their final concert on June 2, 2024.

Mameshiba no Taigun Tonai Bousho a.k.a. MonsterIdol is a Japanese alternative idol girl group formed in 2024 when Mameshiba no Taigun and Tonai Bousho merged into one group. They debuted in April 2024.
