A New Tide is the sixth studio album by the English indie rock band Gomez released on 30 March 2009 by ATO Records. The album was produced by the band as well as Brian Deck and received average reviews from music critics.

Reception

Initial critical response to A New Tide was generally average. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album has received a score of 61, based on 17 reviews. [1]

The album debuted at number 60 on the Billboard 200, selling 10,000 copies in its first week. [8]

Oracular Spectacular is the debut studio album by the American band MGMT, released on October 2, 2007, by RED Ink and physically on January 22, 2008, by Columbia. It was produced by Dave Fridmann and is the band's first release of new content, being recorded from March to April 2007. Promotion for the album started as early as June 2007, when the song "Weekend Wars" was given away in summer issues of free monthly magazine Nöjesguiden in Stockholm, Sweden. Selena Gomez & the Scene was an American pop rock band from Hollywood, California. Formed in 2008, its last lineup consisted of lead vocalist Selena Gomez, bassist Joey Clement, drummer Greg Garman, keyboardist Dane Forrest, and guitarist Drew Taubenfeld. The band released three studio albums, seven singles and nine music videos. Their debut album, Kiss & Tell, was released on September 29, 2009, debuting at No. 9 on the US Billboard 200 and earning the band a Gold certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in March 2010. The second single from the album, "Naturally", reached the top thirty in the U.S., as well as the top twenty in New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, and Germany. The song has been certified Platinum in the U.S. and Canada. As of 2012, Kiss & Tell has sold over 900,000 copies in the U.S.

As the executive producer, Gomez worked with many producers, including Ian Kirkpatrick, Mike Dean, Jason Evigan, Finneas, Mattman & Robin, Sir Nolan, The Monsters & Strangerz and David Pramik. She stated that the album is her "diary from the past few years". Rare is a midtempo pop and dance-pop record, taking cues from electronic, latin pop and R&B. Its lyrics generally deal with themes of self-love, self-empowerment, self-acceptance, and self-worth. Guest features in Rare are from rappers 6lack and Kid Cudi.
