A World Without Dave is an EP by Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine. It was the group's only EP release of original material and was their first release after signing for Cooking Vinyl in 1997.

A World Without Dave was released as an EP to reduce the retail price compared to a full-length album, with the intention of generating higher sales. The album was also the first recorded with bass player Salv and guitarist Steve, each of whom would remain part of Carter until the group's demise. The album reached number 73 in the UK Albums Chart.

Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine English indie punk band

Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine were an English indie punk band formed in 1987 by singer Jim "Jim Bob" Morrison and guitarist Les "Fruitbat" Carter. They made their name with a distinctive style of power pop, fusing samples, sequenced basses and drum machines with rock 'n' roll guitars and off-beat wordplay-loaded lyrics. They reached the height of their fame in 1992. Over the following years the band took on new members, reaching a six-piece, but struggled to regain their earlier popularity. They initially split up in 1998 after releasing seven albums.

Magic Dirt

Magic Dirt are an Australian rock band, which formed in 1991 in Geelong, Victoria, with Daniel Herring on guitar, Adam Robertson on drums, Adalita Srsen on vocals and guitar, and Dean Turner on bass guitar. Initially forming an alternative underground band called Deer Bubbles which split and formed into the much heavier, rock based group called The Jim Jims, they were renamed as Magic Dirt. Their top 40 releases on the ARIA Albums Chart are Friends in Danger (1996), What Are Rock Stars Doing Today (2000), Tough Love (2003) and Snow White (2005). They have received nine ARIA Music Award nominations including four at the ARIA Music Awards of 1995 for Life Was Better – their second extended play. Turner died in August 2009 of dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans. From 2010 to November 2018 the band were on hiatus.

Pixies is a 2002 EP release of the (mostly) previously unissued material from Pixies' original 17-track demo tape, recorded at Fort Apache Studios in March 1987 by Gary Smith. Eight of the tracks from the session were released in 1987 as the band's debut, Come On Pilgrim and the remaining nine were sourced for this release by SpinART Records in the U.S., Cooking Vinyl in the UK and Sonic Unyon Records in Canada.
