Abdi-Hakin Achkel Ulad (born 14 June 1991 in Kismayo Town, Somalia) is a Danish track and field athlete competing in long-distance running (5,000 metres, 10,000 metres, half marathons and marathons). Ulad represented Denmark at the 2016 Summer Olympics and 2020 Summer Olympics. As of 2022, he is currently suspended following a failed drug test.
At the age of eleven, he arrived as a refugee in Denmark together with his aunt. [1] Abdi Hakin Ulad became a citizen of Denmark through naturalization on 28 October 2010. [2] He lives in Skælskør, competes for Hvidovre AM and his coach is Leo Madsen.
On 11 July 2013, Ulad ran 10,000 metres in 29m 44.78sec and achieved a bronze medal at the 2013 European Athletics U23 Championships in Tampere, Finland.
On 13 September 2015, Ulad became Danish half marathon champion with the time of 1h 2m 48sec. At the 2016 European Athletics Championships in Amsterdam, Ulad ranked as number five at the half marathon with the time of 1h 3min 22sec. [3]
His first marathon was in 2015, and on his second try at this distance at the Hamburg Marathon, he finished with the best Danish time since 1989 – 2h 14 min 3sec, which also qualified him for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. [4]
In 2018, he competed in the men's marathon at the 2018 European Athletics Championships held in Berlin, Germany. [5] He did not finish his race. [5]
In December 2019, he ran his personal best on the marathon distance at the Fukuoka Marathon in Japan. With the finish time of 2h 11min 3sec he qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. [6]
In November 2022 it was revealed Ulad had failed a doping test for trimetazidine. He declined to have his B sample tested and admitted to the doping offense via a Facebook post, describing it as "the worse decision of his life". [7] [8]

Mihaela Maria Botezan is a Romanian long-distance runner who specializes mainly in the 10000 metres and the half marathon. She represented Romania at the 2004 Summer Olympics, the 2002 European Athletics Championships, twice at the World Championships in Athletics and five times at the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships.
Souad Aït Salem, also known as Souad Aït Mahour-Bacha is an Algerian long-distance runner who specializes mainly in the half marathon and marathon. She won gold in the 10,000 metres at the 2000 African Championships in Athletics and the 2005 Mediterranean Games. Salem also won the gold in the half marathon at the 2007 All-Africa Games. She holds the Algerian records for every women's event between 3000 metres and the marathon distance.

Almaz is a four-time World Athletics Championships medallist earning a bronze for the 5000m in 2013, gold at the event in 2015 as well as gold in the 10,000m and silver for the 5000m in 2017.
Zane Robertson is a New Zealand middle and long-distance runner. He won the bronze medal in the 5000 metres at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. Robertson is the Oceanian record holder for the 10 kilometres and half marathon, and New Zealand record holder for the marathon. He also holds the area best in the road 10 miles. He is currently serving an eight-year ban for breaching two World Athletics anti-doping rules.
El Hassan El-Abbassi is a Moroccan-born long-distance runner who competes internationally for Bahrain. He was the gold medallist in the 10,000 metres at the 2014 Asian Games and the 2015 Asian Athletics Championships. He has a personal best of 27:25.02 minutes for that distance. El-Abbassi is currently suspended from competition due to an Athletics Integrity Unit investigation following the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Sondre Nordstad Moen is a Norwegian long-distance runner. He set a European record in marathon in 2017 when winning the Fukuoka Marathon, a record he held for ten months. He has also held European records in 25,000 metres, and in one hour run.
Denmark competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Originally scheduled to take place from 24 July to 9 August 2020, the Games were postponed to 23 July to 8 August 2021, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Danish athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games, with the exception of the 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Louis.
Lawrence Cherono is a Kenyan long-distance runner. He is currently the 8th fastest marathon performer of all time with his 2:03:04 clocking at the 2020 Valencia Marathon. He clocked 2:04:06 to win the Amsterdam Marathon on October 21, 2018. He also won the Amsterdam Marathon in 2017, running a time of 2:05:09, setting the course record, which he broke in 2018.
