Abdul Muntaqim ibni Al-Muhtadee Billah (born 17 March 2007) is the oldest child and elder son of Al-Muhtadee Billah, heir-apparent to the Sultan of Brunei, and his wife, Sarah, Crown Princess of Brunei. [1] The Prince is second-in-line to become Sultan of Brunei after his father, who is heir-apparent to Abdul Muntaqim's grandfather Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei.
Prince Muntaqim was born on 17 March 2007, at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital in Bandar Seri Begawan. [2] In honour of the birth of the prince, a 19-gun salute was fired from the cannons on the grounds of Istana Nurul Iman, the official residence of the Sultan of Brunei. [1] He is currently studying at International School Brunei (ISB). [3]
Since the age of five, Abdul Muntaqim has expressed a long-standing interest in the sport of association football. [4] [5] He developed his skills at the club owned by his father, Duli Pengiran Muda Mahkota Football Club, beginning from 2021. [6] [7] The following year, he captained the Brunei national U-17 football team during the 2022 AFF U-16 Championship in Indonesia. [8] [9]
In 2023, Abdul Muntaqim laced up with DPMM FC for the FABD Youth Under-20 League. [10] His team subsequently became the league champions, although he was unable to participate in the trophy presentation due to an official excursion to Japan. [11] [12]
In July 2024, Abdul Muntaqim was selected for the Brunei national under-19 football team playing at the 2024 ASEAN U-19 Boys Championship. [13]
Abdul Muntaqim registered as a player for the second team of DPMM FC in the 2024–25 Brunei Super League, following the footsteps of his father's cousin Pengiran Muda Abdul Qawi who starred for his own club QAF FC in the late 2000s as a royal footballer playing in the Bruneian top flight. [14] He made his league debut against MS ABDB on 1 September 2024 in a 2–1 win. [15] He scored his first two career goals in a 7–0 win against Wijaya FC on 24 November of that year. [16]
Abdul Muntaqim participated in the Pencak Silat Seni Championships in Tutong District, which were conducted in connection with the festivities of His Majesty's 68th birthday. [17]
During the 5th Brunei Open & Masters Swimming Championship at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex, he made two new records which were 1:33.05 in 100 m freestyle and 51.12s in 50 m backstroke. [18]
Abdul Muntaqim participated in several basketball tournaments representing ISB including the U-13 Omni 3×3 Challenge, [19] and the U-13 Brunei Youth Cup. [20]
Consequently, losing to Dessen Chung Min Ting in the Brunei Open Badminton Championship 2018, he made as far as into the semi-final. [21]
For the 2019 under-13 Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA) Games, Abdul Muntaqim was part of the athletics team sent to represent ISB in Phuket, Thailand. [22]

Mohamed Bolkiah ibni Omar Ali Saifuddien III is a member of the royal family of Brunei. The Duli Pengiran Muda Al-Muhtadee Billah College, colloquially known as Maktab Duli (MD), is a government sixth form college located at Jalan Pasar Gadong in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. Established in 1974, it is the first sixth form centre in the country, and has since provided sixth form education leading up to GCE A Level qualification.

Azemah Ni'matul Bolkiah is a polo player and princess of Brunei. She is the eighth child of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei by his former second wife, Puan Hajah Mariam. She made a name for herself in 2017 when she was one of only two female polo players from Brunei in Kuala Lumpur at the 29th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games. Pengiran Anak Abdul Aziz is a nobleman and formerly a police officer from Brunei who previously served as the Controller of the Royal Customs and Excise of Brunei, member of the Royal Succession Council, member of the Royal Council, and the Chief of Jabatan Adat Istiadat Negara. He was one of the concept contributors for the change in the name of the Police Force to the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) as a Royal Dignitary, a State Dignitary, and a Member of Councils. Notably, he also made changes to the flag, the pattern, and the uniform color of the department's officers and staffs during his tenure as the Controller of the Royal Customs and Excise.
Pengiran Muda Hashim was a Bruneian nobleman and politician who held several significant positions, including membership in the Privy Council, Legislative Council, and the Brunei Islamic Religious Council. As a member of the Bruneian royal family, he was the husband to Pengiran Anak Puteri (Princess) Besar, the daughter of Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam II. He was named Wazir in 1952 and served on the executive committee for the coronation ceremony of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, acting as Sultan during the late Sultan's foreign tours.
