The film is Afia Nathaniel's feature directorial debut; she also wrote and produced the film. It is the story of a mother and her ten-year-old daughter, who leave their home to save the girl from an arranged marriage to a tribal leader.
Maalik is a 2016 Pakistani political-thriller film directed, written and produced by Ashir Azeem. It was released on 8 April 2016 in cinemas across Pakistan under the production banner of Media Hub. The film was banned in Pakistan for political reasons after being cleared by all three Censor Boards of the country with Universal (Unrestricted) rating. Opposition parties in Pakistan welcomed the film for showing reality and the KPK govt allowed screening of 'Maalik'. Maalik is the only Pakistani film to be banned by the federal government after it was cleared by all Censor Boards. The film cast includes Ashir Azeem, Farhan Ally Agha, Sajid Hassan, Hassan Niazi, Adnan Shah, Rashid Farooqi, Ehteshamuddin and Tatmain ul Qulb in key roles.
Manto is a 2015 Pakistani biographical drama film based on the life of Pakistani short-story writer Saadat Hassan Manto, starring Sarmad Khoosat in the title role. It was directed by Khoosat himself, produced by Babar Javed, and written by Shahid Nadeem, whose screenplay was adapted from Manto's short stories, particularly "Thanda Gosht", "Madari", "License", "Hatak" and "Peshawar Se Lahore". It also depicts his relationship with singer-actress Noor Jehan. The film was released on 11 September 2015, sixty years after Manto's death.
Actor in Law is a 2016 Pakistani socio-comedy film directed by Nabeel Qureshi, co-written and produced by Fizza Ali Meerza along with Mehdi Ali. The film was released on Eid-ul-Adha 2016 by Urdu 1 Pictures. The film stars Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat in lead roles. The cast also includes veteran Indian actor Om Puri in his first Pakistani film. On 19 April 2017, the movie received the Best Film award at the 16th Lux Style Awards.

7 Din Mohabbat In is a 2018 Pakistani romantic comedy film with fantasy elements. It was directed by Meenu–Farjad under Matteela Films. Written by Fasih Bari Khan, the film features Mahira Khan and Sheheryar Munawar in lead roles and also stars Amna Ilyas, Mira Sethi, Hina Dilpazeer and Javed Sheikh. It was released on Eid al-Fitr, 16 June 2018, under the production banners of Dawn Films and IMGC Global Entertainment, and has been distributed by Distribution Club in Pakistan and by B4U Motion Pictures internationally.

Chikkar (transl. Mud) is a Pakistani thriller film directed and produced by Zaheer Uddin in his directorial debut. The film features an ensemble cast of Usman Mukhtar, Ushna Shah, Nausheen Shah, Adnan Shah Tipu, Saleem Mairaj, Aliee Shaikh and Faryal Mehmood. It first premiered on 20 December 2023 in Nueplex Cinemas and was released theatrically nationwide two days later.
