Adrian Paul Kuiper (born 24 August 1959) is a former South African international cricketer who played in one international Test match and 25 One Day Internationals between 1991 and 1996.
Kuiper is now a farmer at Elgin,near Grabouw in the Western Cape.
Kuiper was a middle-order batsman and medium paced bowler who began with Western Province B in 1977 before graduating to the Western Province A cricket team. He played for Western Province between 1978 and 1995,becoming captain in 1984. He then captained Boland between 1995 and 1998. He played for Derbyshire in the English County Championship in 1990. He also helped Derbyshire to win the 1990 Refuge Assurance League,top-scoring for the county with 56 in the decisive fixture against Essex. [1]
Kuiper played 5 unofficial "Tests" for the South African cricket team. He played the first in 1981 and also the last in 1990 both versus England. When South Africa was re-admitted to international cricket,Kuiper played in the first One Day International (ODI) series versus India in 1991,playing a pivotal role in South Africa's victory in the 3rd match,and also in the 1992 World Cup. Kuiper's place in South African cricket history was assured when he was part of the teams which played the Proteas first post apartheid ODI and Test. Although South Africa lost their first ever ODI,their innings were boosted by an initially restrained,and then firework laden 43 from Kuiper. [2]
Kuiper also played in South Africa's first Test since re-admittance versus West Indies at Barbados in 1992. That was Kuiper's only official Test as he was seen as a one-day specialist. In 1994 he struck 26 runs,including three successive sixes,from an over by Craig McDermott in a One Day International match versus Australia at Verwoerdburg (Centurion).
Kuiper played One Day Internationals until 1996. Scoring 61 in his last innings versus England at Port Elizabeth. But he was not considered for the 1996 Cricket World Cup squad due to his age and fitness.
During his career Kuiper was compared to Ian Botham due to his big hitting. He hit 117 off 67 balls (reaching his century in 48 balls) with eight sixes and eight fours against the rebel England team at Bloemfontein in 1990. It was described by fellow South African batsman Daryll Cullinan as the best one day hundred he had seen. [3]

Waugh was a part of the Australian team that won the 1999 Cricket World Cup.

Graeme Craig Smith is a South African cricket commentator and former cricketer who played for South Africa in all formats. In 2003,he was appointed captain of the national team,taking over from Shaun Pollock. He held the position of test captain until his retirement in 2014. At 22,he was appointed as South Africa's youngest ever captain. He was the most capped captain ever when he played his 102nd test against England. He is considered as one of South Africa's greatest ever captains having led South Africa to a record 54 test victories.

A right-handed batsman,who mostly opened the batting,Gibbs became the first player to hit six consecutive sixes in one over in One Day International (ODI) cricket,doing so against the Netherlands in the 2007 Cricket World Cup.

Hashim Mahomed Amla OIS is a South African former international cricketer who captained the national side in Tests and ODIs. Amla holds the record for being the fastest ever to score 3,000,4,000,6,000 and 7,000 ODI runs,and second fastest to reach 5,000 runs. He also became the fastest cricketer to reach 10 ODI centuries. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen to have played for South Africa,and one of the greatest opening batsmen of all time.
Daryll John Cullinan is a former South African first-class cricketer who played Test cricket and One Day Internationals for South Africa as a specialist batsman. He was regarded as the most gifted batsman of his generation as he was equally adept against pace or spin. Cullinan has said that his most important batting fundamentals were his balance,knowing where his off-stump was and getting his defence in order. He ended up playing 70 tests and 138 ODIs for South Africa. Cullinan's career Test average of 44.21 is only surpassed by ten South Africans with more than ten Tests. At the time of his retirement,he held the record for scoring the most test centuries for South Africa,with 14. Cullinan was a member of the South Africa team that won the 1998 ICC KnockOut Trophy,the only ICC trophy the country has won to date.

Bopara has also played for Karachi Kings in the Pakistan Super League,Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League,Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League and Chittagong Vikings in the Bangladesh Premier League. Virender Sehwag is a former Indian cricketer who represented India from 1999 to 2013. Widely regarded as one of the most destructive openers and one of the greatest batsman of his era,he played for Delhi Capitals in IPL and Delhi and Haryana in Indian domestic cricket. He played his first One Day International in 1999 and joined the Indian Test side in 2001. During the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy,Sehwag was the highest run scorer with 271 runs. In 2023,he was inducted into ICC Cricket Hall of Fame.

Root is currently the leading run-scorer among all active batsmen and the tenth highest run-scorer of all time in Test cricket.
