Brian Mervin McMillan (born 22 December 1963) played 38 Test matches and 78 One Day Internationals for South Africa from 1991 to 1998. He was rated by many as the best all-rounder in the world in the mid-1990s,and won South African Cricket Annual Cricketer of the Year awards in 1991 and 1996.
McMillan was a right arm medium-pace bowler and right-handed batsman. He was also a leading slip fielder,and holds the highest percentage of catches per Test for an outfielder in South Africa Test cricket history.
McMillan made his Test debut in November 1992,against India at Durban,in South Africa's first home Test match in over 20 years. He was a key member of the South African team post their re-admittance to world cricket in 1991. McMillan made his ODI debut in November 1991,against India at Eden Gardens. [1]
In domestic cricket,he represented Transvaal for four seasons from 1984–85 to 1988–89,and Western Province from 1989–90 until his retirement in the 1999–00 season. He also spent a season with Warwickshire in 1986.
McMillan has also been a professional teacher in Durban university. He currently heads an office automation firm in Cape Town.
McMillan used a racist term "coolie creeper" to a player of Asian origin in a domestic game in 1999. McMillan,who has represented the national team for several years,was severely reprimanded by the disciplinary committee of the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) for advising a Western Province teammate to bowl a "coolie creeper" to an Indian batsman. "Coolie" is a derogatory term referring to a laborer of Indian descent.
Rahul Sharad Dravid is an Indian cricket coach and former captain of the Indian national team,currently serving as its head coach. Prior to his appointment to the senior men's national team,Dravid was the Head of Cricket at the National Cricket Academy (NCA),and the head coach of the India Under-19 and India A teams. Under his coaching,Indian cricket team finished as runners-up at the 2023 Cricket World Cup and 2023 ICC World Test Championship final and were semifinalist at the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
Javagal Srinath, is a former Indian cricketer and currently an ICC match referee. He is considered among India's finest fast bowlers,and was the first Indian fast bowler to take more than 300 wickets in One Day Internationals. With India,Srinath was a member of the Indian team that was the joint-winners of the 2002 ICC Champions Trophy,a title they shared with Sri Lanka,and was a member of the team that were runners-up in the 2003 Cricket World Cup.
Damien Richard Martyn is an Australian cricket commentator and former cricketer,who played Tests and ODIs. He played for the national team sporadically in 1992–1994 before becoming a regular ODI player from 1999 to 2000 and a regular Test player in 2000 until his retirement in late 2006. He was primarily a right-handed middle-order batsman with a 'classical' technique,known in particular for his elegant strokemaking square of the wicket on the off-side and through the covers. Martyn was a member of the Australian team that won two consecutive world titles in a row:the 1999 Cricket World Cup,the 2003 Cricket World Cup,as well as being a member of the team that won the 2006 ICC Champions Trophy.
Ajit Bhalchandra Agarkar is a former Indian cricketer and a commentator. He is and has been the chairman of the BCCI selection committee since July 4,2023. He has represented India in more than 200 international matches across all three formats of the game. Adam Craig Gilchrist is an Australian cricket commentator and former international cricketer and captain of the Australia national cricket team. He was an attacking left-handed batsman and record-breaking wicket-keeper,who redefined the role for the Australia national team through his aggressive batting. Widely regarded as one of the greatest wicket-keeper-batsmen in the history of the game,Gilchrist held the world record for the most dismissals by a wicket-keeper in One Day International (ODI) cricket until it was surpassed by Kumar Sangakkara in 2015 and the most by an Australian in Test cricket. The Indian cricket team toured South Africa during the 1996–97 season,playing three Tests from 21 December 1996 to 30 January 1997. Prior to the series,India toured South Africa in the 1992–93 season,losing the Test series 0–1. India was led by Sachin Tendulkar while South Africa was led by Hansie Cronje. The series was Tendulkar's first overseas Test tour as captain and third overall. The tour began with a Test series,consisting of three matches. South Africa won the first two matches by a huge margin,thereby winning the series 2–0,while the final Test ended in a draw. South Africa resumed official international cricket in 1991 after the moratorium imposed by the International Cricket Conference in 1970 was lifted.
