David John Richardson (born 16 September 1959) is a South African former cricketer and the former CEO of the International Cricket Council. [1] [2]
Richardson played 42 Test matches and 122 One Day Internationals as a wicket-keeper for South Africa,and represented Eastern Province and Northern Transvaal in various domestic competitions.
Richardson succeeded Ray Jennings as South Africa's number one 'keeper in 1986 for their Unofficial "Test" matches. For the first seven years after South Africa returned from isolation,Richardson was a permanent fixture as wicket-keeper,his trademark sun hat and brown gloves were very recognisable. He was also a gritty batsman,scoring a maiden and his only Test century (109) against New Zealand at Cape Town in 1994–95. [1]
In January 2002,Richardson was appointed as the International Cricket Council's first general manager. [1] In June 2012,Richardson was appointed as the new chief executive officer of the ICC. [1] Using his influence he ensured that pitch preparation of neutral venues were in the ICC's hands.
Following the death of Australian Test cricketer Phillip Hughes in November 2014,Richardson said that any action on bowling bouncers in cricket matches would be "unlikely".
Richardson is a qualified lawyer and remained in cricket after retirement as a business agent for several players. His son,Michael,played county cricket in England for Durham.
Jacques Henry Kallis OIS is a South African cricket coach and former cricketer. Widely regarded as one of the greatest cricketers of all time and as the greatest all-rounder ever to play the game,he is a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium swing bowler. As of 2022,Kallis is the only cricketer in the history of the game to score more than 10,000 runs and take over 250 wickets in both ODI and Test match cricket. He has also taken 131 ODI catches. He scored 13,289 runs in his Test match career,took 292 wickets,and 200 catches. Kallis scored 45 Test match centuries and is the third highest test match run scorer in history. Kallis won 23 Man-of-the-Match awards,the most by any player in Test history.
The Bangladesh men's national cricket team,popularly known as The Tigers,is administered by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). It is a Full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) with Test,One-Day International (ODI) and Twenty20 International (T20I) status. It played its first Test match in November 2000 against India with a 9 wicket win in Dhaka,becoming the tenth Test-playing nation. It became an associate member of the ICC in 1977,and competed in six ICC Trophies but performed inconsistently until 1997,which marked the year of their first major victory,winning the 1997 ICC Trophy held in Malaysia. This set Bangladesh on its way of becoming a Test-playing nation,a journey which ended with success in the year 2000.
Graeme Craig Smith is a South African cricket commentator and former cricketer who played for South Africa in all formats. In 2003,he was appointed captain of the national team,taking over from Shaun Pollock. He held the position of test captain until his retirement in 2014. At 22,he was appointed as South Africa's youngest ever captain. He was the most capped captain ever when he played his 102nd test against England. He is considered as one of South Africa's greatest ever captains having led South Africa to a record 54 test victories.
Kumar Chokshanada Sangakkara born 27 October 1977 is a Sri Lankan former professional cricketer who represented Sri Lanka in 134 Test matches from 2000 to 2015,including fifteen as captain. In first-class cricket,he played for Nondescripts Cricket Club from 1997–98 to 2013–14 and for Surrey County Cricket Club from 2015 to 2017. He also played for numerous franchise teams. He was born in Matale,Central Province.
Rashid Latif,is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who played for the Pakistan national cricket team in Tests and One Day Internationals from 1992 to 2003 as a right-handed wicket-keeper batsman. He also served as the captain of the Pakistan team in 2003,leading the country in 6 Test and 25 one-day matches.
Mark Verdon Boucher is a South African cricket coach and former cricketer who played all three formats of the game. Boucher is regarded as one of the best wicket-keeper batsmen of all time,and holds the record for the most Test dismissals by a wicket-keeper,with 532 catches and 555 total dismissals. Boucher was a member of the South Africa team that won the 1998 ICC KnockOut Trophy,the only time the country has won an ICC trophy till date.
Makhaya Ntini OIS is a South African former professional cricketer,who played all forms of the game. He was the first black player to play for the South African national cricket team. Ntini was a member of the South Africa team that won the 1998 ICC KnockOut Trophy,the only ICC trophy the country has won to date.
Barrington Noel Jarman was an Australian Test cricketer and International Cricket Council (ICC) match referee. Jarman played in 19 Test matches for the Australian cricket team between 1959 and 1969,including one match as captain.
Richard Keith Illingworth is an English former cricketer,who is currently an umpire. The bulk of his domestic cricketing career was with Worcestershire,although he had a spell with Derbyshire,and overseas with Natal. He played in nine Tests and twenty-five ODIs for England,including participating in the 1992 and 1996 Cricket World Cups.
Kamran Akmal is a Pakistani cricket administrator,coach and former cricketer,who played for Pakistan as a right-handed batsman &wicketkeeper. He started his international career in November 2002 with a Test match at Harare Sports Club. Akmal was a member of the Pakistan team that won the 2009 ICC World Twenty20.
Abraham Benjamin de Villiers is a South African former international cricketer,and a current commentator. AB de Villiers was named as the ICC ODI Player of the Year three times during his 15-year international career and was one of the five Wisden cricketers of the decade at the end of 2019. He is regarded as one of the greatest cricketers in the history of the sport and as one of the best batsmen of his era. de Villiers began his international career as a wicket-keeper-batsman,but he has played most often solely as a batsman. He batted at various positions in the batting order,but predominantly in the middle-order. Regarded as one of the most innovative and destructive batsmen in the modern era,de Villiers is known for a range of unorthodox shots,particularly behind the wicket-keeper. He made his international debut in a Test match against England in 2004 and first played a One Day International (ODI) in early 2005. His debut in Twenty20 International cricket came in 2006. He scored over 8,000 runs in both Test and ODI cricket and is one of the very few batsmen to have a batting average of over fifty in both forms of the game. In limited overs cricket,he is an attacking player. He holds the record for the fastest ODI fifty,fastest ODI century,and fastest ODI 150.
Ian James Gould is an English former first-class cricketer and a former member of the ICC Elite Panel of cricket umpires. He previously also served as the chairman of English football club Burnham FC. In April 2019,Gould announced that he would retire as an umpire following the 2019 Cricket World Cup. On 6 July 2019,Gould retired from umpiring,after officiating in the World Cup match between India and Sri Lanka. However,he has since umpired in matches in the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
Dale Willem Steyn is a South African former professional cricketer who played for the South African cricket team. He is regarded by many as the greatest bowler of the Modern Era. During the 2007–08 season,Steyn achieved a tally of 78 wickets at an average of 16.24,and was subsequently rewarded with the ICC 2008 Test Cricketer of the Year Award. He was named one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 2013,and the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World for the year 2013 in 2014's Wisden Cricketers' Almanack. He was featured in Wisden Cricketers of the Decade at the end of 2019. He also was included in the ICC Test Team of the Decade at the end of 2020.
Graeme Fredrick Labrooy is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who played in nine Test matches and 44 One Day International from 1986 to 1992. He was the chairman of selectors for the national team and currently serves as an international match referee. His younger brother Wendell Labrooy is also a first-class cricketer and match referee. Labrooy holds the unique distinction of never playing any of his nine test matches at home. He had modelled his text book bowling action on Richard Hadlee and he was regarded as a huge fan of Hadlee.

Michael John Richardson is a South African-born German cricketer. Richardson is a right-handed batsman who fields as a wicket-keeper. He was born in Port Elizabeth. Richardson made his debut for Durham in a first-class match against Durham MCCU in 2010.

He currently plays for South Africa in limited overs cricket,Titans at the domestic level,and Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League. He was named the Cricketer of the Year at Cricket South Africa's 2017 Annual Awards.

Alex Tyson Carey is an Australian international cricketer. Formerly an Australian rules footballer,he is currently a wicket-keeper who plays for the Australian national team in test match and one day formats. In domestic cricket,he plays for South Australia and Adelaide Strikers. He was the captain of the Greater Western Sydney Giants in 2010,but when they joined the Australian Football League in 2012,he was left out of the squad and returned to his home state of South Australia,where he began to play domestic cricket.
The South African national cricket team toured Australia in December 2022 and January 2023 to play three Test matches. The Test matches formed part of the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship.
