The Afghan Cheetahs was a Twenty20 team established in 2011 from Afghanistan that played in Pakistan's domestic Faysal Bank Twenty-20 Cup in September/October 2011. [1] The team was captained by Mohammad Nabi and coached by Raees Ahmadzai.
Despite the Afghanistan national cricket team being a member of the International Cricket Council in its own right, its recent success has seen it invited to take part in this competition in its full member neighbour. This is similar to other associate/affiliate members of the International Cricket Council. In Europe, the national teams of Denmark, Ireland, the Netherlands and Scotland have all at some point taken part in English domestic cricket. In Africa, Kenya has taken part in West Indian and Zimbabwean domestic cricket, while Namibia takes part in South Africa domestic cricket. Similarly, the national teams of Canada and the United States have also been invited to take part in West Indian domestic cricket. Such moves are seen as a way to give associate/affiliate members of the International Cricket Council access to regular cricket of a high standard, which they do not have access to in their own countries, by which to improve their skills.
Compiling a mixture of national players and youth, the Afghan Cheetahs played three matches in the competition, losing all three. They lost to Rawalpindi Rams by 4 wickets, [2] Faisalabad Wolves by 13 runs [3] and Multan Tigers by 4 wickets. [4] These defeats left the Cheetahs at the bottom of their group and eliminated them from the competition.

The Rawalpindi Rams was a domestic Twenty20 and List A cricket team, based in Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. The team was established in 2004–05 and its home ground was the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The National T20 Cup is a men's professional domestic Twenty20 cricket competition in Pakistan. Established in 2005, it is one of the world's oldest Twenty20 cricket leagues. It was the principal T20 competition in the country until 2016, when the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise tournament was introduced. Since 2019–20, the National T20 Cup has been contested by six regional teams, having previously been contested mainly by teams representing the various city, district and area cricket associations.
The 2009–10 RBS Twenty-20 Cup was the sixth edition of the domestic RBS Twenty-20 Cup in Pakistan, sponsored by the Royal Bank of Scotland. It was held from 28 February to 7 March 2010 at the National Stadium, Karachi. This edition had 13 competing teams divided into four groups. Sialkot Stallions successfully defended the title and won the tournament for the fifth consecutive time, defeating Faisalabad Wolves in the final by 5 wickets.
The 2010–11 Faysal Bank T20 Cup was the seventh edition of the domestic Faysal Bank T20 Cup in Pakistan, sponsored by Faysal Bank. This was one of the most closely fought tournaments in Pakistani Twenty20 cricket as the previous five tournaments had ended in victory for the Sialkot Stallions, this one saw the Stallions fall out in the first round. The Karachi Dolphins led by Shahid Afridi and Lahore Lions captained by Mohammad Yousuf competed in the final, which the Lahore Lions won by 37 runs. Abdul Razzaq was named man of the match for his valiant 78*.
The 2011 Faysal Bank Super Eight T20 Cup was the first season of the Faysal Bank Super Eight T20 Cup. The tournament was held from 24 June in Faisalabad, between the top eight teams from the 2010–11 Faysal Bank T20 Cup. The winners were awarded ₨2.5 million in prize money while the runners-up received ₨1 million. The Rawalpindi Rams won the tournament by defeating the Karachi Dolphins in the final in the Super Over.
The 2011–12 Faysal Bank T20 Cup was the eighth season of the Faysal Bank T20 Cup in Pakistan, sponsored by Faysal Bank. The season was to begin in the final week of September in Lahore but due to an outbreak of dengue fever, the tournament was shifted to Karachi instead. The winning team received ₨ 2.5 million as prize money and while the runners-up received ₨ 1 million.
Gulbadin Naib is an Afghan cricketer. Naib is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm fast-medium. In April 2019, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) named Naib as the team's new One Day International (ODI) captain ahead of the 2019 Cricket World Cup, replacing Asghar Afghan. However, following the Cricket World Cup, where Afghanistan lost all of their matches, Rashid Khan was named as the new captain of the Afghanistan cricket team across all three formats.

The season began on 25 March 2012 and was held at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. 15 matches were played during the tournament.

Mohammad Sami Agha is an Afghan cricketer. Sami is a right-handed batsman. He was born at Kandahar, Kandahar Province.
The 2012–13 Faysal Bank T20 Cup was the ninth season of the Faysal Bank T20 Cup in Pakistan, which was held from 1 to 9 December 2012. The winning team will receive Rs 20 million as prize money and while the runners-up will receive Rs 10 million. This was also the last tournament played and was replaced with the Pakistan Super League.
The 2005–06 ABN-AMRO Twenty-20 Cup was the second edition of the ABN-AMRO Twenty-20 Cup, a domestic Twenty20 competition in Pakistan. It was held in Karachi from 24 February to 4 March 2006. This edition featured an expanded format, with an increase from 19 to 39 matches and from 11 to 13 teams; the new teams being the Islamabad Leopards and the Abbottabad Rhinos. The Sialkot Stallions won the tournament by defeating the defending champions the Faisalabad Wolves in the final.

The 2013 Faysal Bank Super Eight T20 Cup was the third season of the Faysal Bank Super Eight T20 Cup. It was played between March 26, 2013 and March 31, 2013 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. A total of 15 matches were played during the tournament.
The 2013–14 Faysal Bank T20 Cup was the tenth season of the Faysal Bank T20 Cup in Pakistan, sponsored by Faysal Bank. The tournament was held from 6 to 16 February 2014 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi; Diamond Ground, Islamabad; Marghazar Ground, Islamabad and National Ground, Islamabad. A total of 17 Teams were divided into four groups, this was the most teams in the tournament's history. The highlight of this tournament was the inclusion for the first time of three new teams: FATA Cheetahs, Dera Murad Jamali Ibexes and Larkana Bulls. Broadcasting rights were given to PTV Sports who aired all of the matches live.

Najeeb Tarakai was an Afghan cricketer who played international cricket for the Afghanistan team. He played in twelve Twenty20 International matches and a One Day International fixture. Tarakai made his international debut at the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 tournament in Bangladesh. In domestic cricket, he scored more than 2,000 runs in first-class matches. He was also part of the Afghan team that won the silver medal in the cricket tournament at the 2014 Asian Games.
Qaseem Khan is an Afghan cricketer. Khan is a right-handed batsman who fields as a wicket-keeper.
